Rolex DJ41 choices

I was in my local AD and looked at two watches they have in store.

I like both but cannot decide which to get what are peoples thoughts on the two I looked at.

Personally I like the white dial.

Today I was in an AD looking at a DD with a silver dial and decided that I favor the white dial

I would go with white dial - the fluted bezel+jubilee is THE DJ.

Fluted and jubilee is the DJ’s signature and it would be my choice all day, everyday. Sundust is nice too but not a fan of the dome bezel. On any other watches fine but not DJ. IMO.

Good luck

Oyster with Sundust. Super versatile watch.
The jubilee bracelet is just too dressy for my taste.

Now that is a tough one.
Both look great.

What other models have you got?
May swing it one way or the other......mixing things up a bit with bracelets / dial colour etc.

I do not have any other watches, but this purchase will push me to preferred on the wait list for a Professional Model. I am hoping for a GMT or Submariner after this one.

If you really are just looking for a GMT or Sub then I personally would not buy this watch and I'd find a new AD.

those models are simply not available without a significant wait in Australia.

White for me, Cleaner dial. I also like the look of the gold accents around the hour markers.

I struggled between white and black dials, but chose black... in your duo, definitely white dial fluted, for the win

I love the fluted bezel, especially on the TT. The white is also much easier to read.

The TT on the jubilee with the fluted bezel and white dial may be my favorite DJ of all time. Classic good looks, throwback to the 70's-80's in a good way, and updated with a modern movement and bracelet.

Has to be a jubilee on any DJ and of those two I’d go with white dial because it pops more and makes the gold look brighter.

I got a smooth, oyster with rhodium 41. I regret it, looks like trash on every part that’s polished ie: case, bezel, pcls and clasp. (To my eyes in my personal opinion) If I had to choose again it would be fluted with jubilee. But ideally I wouldnt have bought it in the first place cause fluted and jubilee isn’t really my style. In summary I like the look of brand new smooth on oyster but that changed after a couple days wear. I really only enjoy dressy watches being scratchless. Although I know lots of people say dj41 is “basically” a sports model I couldn’t disagree more.

TBH you must be giving your watches a hard life. And nothing wrong with that.

I imagine a Sub / GMT / Daytona would also suffer similar issues given the circumstances.

My DJ41 (Jubilee / smooth) is holding up better than my BLNR did.
Maybe it's why the jubilee seems harder to source?

I believe Jubilee hides the scratches compared to Oyster that makes them obvious due to smaller and cuved links.

Im not too prescious with them but usually very careful, dj did get a nice scratch from closing the bathroom door the wrong way but all the other ones seem to have appeared out of nowhere, maybe from washing (hand and soap then wiping with microfibre cloths) and probably from business shirts, but the sub has 0 scratches, been to the beach, drinking, under cuffs and washing.

I do definitely believe some people’s dj41s are still 90-100% mint cause I’ve seen the photos on the forum.

I think in my case with mine it’s just me and my ocd inspections under sun light and at every angle under the sun. (I’m not talking hairlines though neither am I talking gouges)

I do 100% love the weight of the dj41 though, it’s like wearing a bracelet.

The white dial will be easier to read, also love the jubilee bracelet, slimmer lugs to accomodate the 2019 model.
