Just noticed some weird scratches across clasp logo

So I was doing some macro pics using a lense today in the sun and noticed horizontal scratches all across the clasp crown .did I some how graze the clasp across something or
Are these lines supposed to be there from manufacturing process.you can only see it if you tilt it into the light at the perfect angle under high magnification loupe .im not really ocd but it did catch my eye today and was just wondering because this is my first scratch I've noticed on this new bracelet I guess I must have scraped it lol first scratch always hurts .and I should know better to not loupe a watch lol

Could you post some pics from a scanning electron microscope so we can evaluate the scratches on something closer to a molecular level? Thanks.

It's probably just the finish. It would be difficult to get a perfect scrape across the crown like that without hitting the points which are elevated above the spires.

No expert, but assume that is part of the manufacturing process. Looks too uniform to have been from you scratching it.

Never use macro lenses, microscopes, etc., to look at your watches. You are only asking to be horrified and traumatized at the flawed and damage at the atomic level.

What he said...Enjoy and revel in your watch...leave the macro lens to the

If that's how rolex finish the clasp crown then that's good enough for me I don't polish my watches I leave them original finish.and to the poster above I know I should never loupe a watch ha ha

Exactly what I was thinking. Probably tough to get that area shiny and smooth after it's machined since polishing it will just make it look soft.

Why does that make it OK?
I'm not saying it's a big deal but I don't see that on my watch at the same magnification.

Yes, I'm noticing that a few molecules seem to have been removed from that clasp. Not sure if it's the manufacturing process or it scraping against a piece of hair, though.

What watch/bracelet is that. Is it new from an AD? I don't think you are magnifying it a crazy amount. That doesn't look right to me.

It's was new 97200 bracelet with glidelock from rsc got it 6 months ago was new took the stickers off.to show that tooling finish I needed perfect angle using the sun light to show the lines under a loupe .in normal pics it looks like this. Complety smooth

chemical formula for aluminium sulfide

So The lines are normal like tools and othets have said imo. looking at other watches for sale that are using hi res picsthey are only visable in certain conditions.

Well then I guess I'm now in the same camp as everyone else. I didn't realize you had to try to capture it. Your pics made me believe it was deep enough that you'd feel it easily with a fingernail.
