My 2011 Hulk......when rotating my wrist...

My Hulk that I bought new in 2011 and which has seen 80% of my wrist time up to present day.........when I rotate my wrist towards my body I hear something that sounds like something hitting he inside of the watch. Possibly the rotor hitting the case ? Maybe after 7 years of frequent use something has worked loose. Watch keeps very good time maybe a few seconds fast, which I’m totally cool with.

Three questions:

1) If I don’t get the watch serviced right now, can the damage increase, and will it be more expensive to repair in the future ?

2) How much would a service by RSC run, on my Hulk ?
(Dial, Hands, Bezel, Bracelet, and Crystal are fine. Or at least I don’t see anything wrong). So I guess just the movement would just have to be serviced.

3) Will they automatically polish the watch ? What do I do if I don’t want the watch polished ?

Yes, damage could get worse if there is something loose inside the watch.

You should immediately hack the movement.

Sorry I can't comment on servicing but I am sure someone else will, but in the meantime I would be hacking the movement in case something is loose.

If the watch is now 7-8 years old and presuming it hasn't ever been serviced, I highly recommend you do.
Just because it keeps good time doesn't mean all the parts aren't dried out and wearing with minimal lubrication.
I saw a similar aged Datejust at my watchmakers the other day and it had noticeable wear in parts.
You service your car as part of preventative maintenance, not just when it brakes down and won't go. Your watch is the same.

Send it in for service. It’s time anyways and any possible really bad issues will be fixed before they become big problems. I’d budget $1,200 which should cover a full service and any replacement parts needed. Assuming it’s nothing major.

Normally I'd say leave it if it's keeping good time, but if you're actually hearing something loose you should send it for service.

Assuming nothing major has happened, they'll service the movement and polish the watch, unless you ask them not to polish it.

When did Rolex start recommending a 10 year service interval? Was there a change in their movements that supported this?

I don’t think they have ever recommended this service period.. they just commented that this is what many owners do.

I can't pull up the images atm, but it originally was a letter stating that that is what most owners do, but recently there is some other info where they actually say to do it every 10 years.

I do only hear the noise when moving wrist quickly rotating watch back and forth. If the movement needs repairing or replacing would they do either for a just the “servicing cost”.
So if I didn’t address the problem now and something got worse, then the cost to repair would be the same if I did it Now or in the future ?
