Need help with Watch Appraiser, suggestions please

Hi Guys,

Need a recommendation for a fair watch appraiser.

I have 3 men’s watches (2 Rolex and a panerai) and my wife has 3 (all Rolex) that I just had insured through JewelersMutual.

I’m going on vacation and wanted the peace of mind LOL

I called Tourneau and they would only appraise the one that I bought from them. The other ones were bought from DavidSW and Chrono24, and one from a jewelry store in Connecticut (Betteridge).

Also, If I take it to a local jeweler, how many days do I need to leave it there and how much does it usually cost? I want to be prepared and not be robbed blind

Thanks in advance

Suggest contacting insurer to see what appraisal they honor before paying for one they don’t honor.

David from DavidSW will send you an appraisal for the watch you bought from him without a problem. Not sure when you bought it but the appraisal will be the price you paid on the watch.

Some MAY also honor a recent sales receipt.

I know Jewelers Mutual will accept the sales receipt as the appraisal value. I think it has to be within a few months. I insure my watch the day I buy it.

Why don't you put them all in your safety deposit box at the bank while you're gone. You will enjoy the trip much more not worrying about a robbery in a foreign country.
