Advice on which Rolex for first purchase
Hi,
I am looking to buy my first Rolex from new and not sure which model to opt for. I am sure this might spark some debate but i am considering either the 16613, 16613LN submariners or the 166623 yacht-master. As you can see i am drawn to the bi metal product. Any help or advice or even the best palce to buy in the UK would be appreciatted. Kind regards. Alan. |

Well both watches are basically the same movement wise so its just down to the style you prefer. Myself although not a huge fan of gold or TT watches I would choose the sub

Agreed.....
Not a fan of the TT either, so I'd choose the Sub as well....NONE of the choices are wrong to be sure!!!

As previously stated, you cant go wrong with any of those choices. It all comes down to style and what you like. Personally I am not a fan of TT so I say SS Sub. Make sure you get what you like the best

The only advice I can give you is to buy the watch you really, really, really want. Try them on, think about it, try them on again, think about it again and once you know which one you like, buy that one.

I as well, not a great fan of bi-color Rolex products
But the "Bluesy" I must admit, it is the exception.. |

On the UK AD front, my experience with Goldsmiths was really positive - been back several times to get them to tweak the bracelet and they've been really happy to do
so and even remembered my name! |

Alan, buy whatever you feel comfortable with, and by the end of the day they are all beautiful ROLEXes. Enjoy and wear whatever you buy in a very good health.

Impossible for me to answer thoughtfully without knowing a lot more about you, including at LEAST:
1. Current watches that you will also wear 2. Lifestyle (job, hobbies, personality) 3. Why you are considering Rolex.

i would go YM... simply because subs are common.. ive always thought of them as the 2nd Rolex i would want..
for TT, i would get a GMTIIc TT, but thats just me either way, buy now, in a couple years the price difference will probably be rediculous

Not a big YG or TT fan myself. But starting to look a little more at the TT. With that being said If these are the ONLY two you are deciding on I think I would go for the Sub myself. If you are open for suggestion on the same models I would go after the 16622 Stainless and Platinum (hey it is bi-metal right) I really like the red second hand. I saw one of these the other day at the mall on a gentlemen’s wrist and my eye went right to that second hand. Truly a breathtaking timepiece. I am now considering 16622 as my next purchase.
Whatever your decision is you will NOT be disappointed with your purchase. |
