Thoughts on oysterquartz?
What are your thoughts? Do you guys feel it’s meh because of it being a quartz watch? I like the design and considering to pick one up.

Some people don't care but personally I don't want a quartz watch except maybe a G shock.

Love them! Love the design and that it's a Rolex quartz, which no one expects.
I don't own one, but every 6 months I go on a shopping adventure to see what's out there and for how much. edit: I forgot to mention, back in the late '80s, one of my friend's dad had a two tone OQ ... I thought it was the coolest. |

Probably one of the nicest quartz movements out there. It was way ahead of its time.

Love them, I wish that they’d bring them back... Tudor are you listening?

I don’t care for them. I’m fine with quartz, I just don’t like the Oysterquartz.

More R&D went into its movement than most and it was on the market longer than most. But not too many people seem to understand the hybrid workings of this 11-jewel marvel, sadly. Not many Rolex references get a 25-year run like the OQ 17xxx models did, though.

Yea I’m not too thrilled for quartz movement (as they are perceived as “cheap” watches but I do like the integrated bracelet reminds of my grail watch the Royal Oak Genta design.

If you love Rolex for their ruggedness, case design, service network, universal wearability, and history - buy one.
If you think every beer should be an overly hoppy IPA to be a good beer, don't. Sorry, if you think every Rolex should be an automatic to be a good (real) Rolex, don't. And don't worry about the servicing propaganda. They're fully serviceable by RSC and quality indy techs at reasonable prices. Have fun picking one out. |

I always liked the bracelet which was quite unique.
PS: Here's an interesting site devoted to this model. https://www.oysterquartz.net/

Never warmed up to the case shape, especially the lugs. Functionally, a great watch.

I like the styling quite a lot, though it will be unlikely that I'll ever acquire one, due to a move toward new priorities.

Thoughts on oysterquartz?
They can be no more appropriate answer than... NO.
IF I was going to get a quartz then I'd go fit something like the new Edifice slim model with Bluetooth etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Love quartz watches. But I would not pay a premium to have ROLEX on the dial.

It’s not just the ‘Rolex’ on the dial. Show me the movement in one of your quartz watches Jim?

Enjoy your quartz Rolex in good health. But at the end of the day, it is one worn out battery away from only being on time twice a day. If you enjoy the sophistication of the Rolex quartz movement, that's great. For me, neither the "modern" angles, nor the movement warrant more than the $200 competition.

I had several: sometimes they run 1-2 sec wrong per 6 months sometimes 5-6 sec wrong 1 month
too small for me spare parts are not to find so easy today, but this electronic module was still available from RSC 1 year ago I like the sound of the movement: tack... tack ... tack |

I love the look of them. I'd probably buy one if I set out to.
They'd be cooler if they were automatic, just my opinion. |
