Reporting on the 309 and the one with "the little thingy" on the dial .... :-)

So had a chance to go through to the AD today ....

The PAM 309 ~ Yes,its an impressive piece.Lovely 47mm Radimir casing, lovely black dial with the gold hands, font size and shape looking very" right".The smaller second sub-dial also looking pretty neat. The rosegold inner-ring a bit too "unpronounced " for my taste. Also the use of Ti,not my first choice.I would have prefered SS,or even considering the price,WG.One of the better OEM Alligator straps with the all black strap suiting he design nicely.Like with all Panerai straps,I would have liked it longer. All in all a very nice watch !!.... but at a price.

The PAM 292 .... with the pig !!! VERY nice watch !!! All ceramic casing looking nice and the simple dial layout and hourmarkers and Arabics standing out nicely against a sea of black.Had it next to my 242 and the 292 dial looks larger, because of the simpler design. Its a J serial,it has the pig and it just arrived this week.Like with all PAMs the OEM all black calf leaves much to be desired.Too short and just too black.I would prefer a nice vibrant brown with black stitching or a black strap with white/off-white/antique/cream/beige sitching. The 292 ......... (the pig) and such a strap would be a killer !!!!! I have until mid-week next week to decide if I want it.Off course, there are MANY just waiting for me not to take it ... I am very seriously considering it !!!

Saw a 111 again and anyone considering a PAM for the first time ...... you simply cannot go wrong with a 111 .. !!!!

.....oh and for those still hunting a 233 ?? They still have one in stock. Also, saw a 88 and 104

Sounds like you want the 292, go for it, it's your money and you know what you want, i know some panerai fans don't like it but in 5 years it may well be a very sought after PAM, even if it's not it'll still hold its value and you'll still like it

Despite its very high seondary market value, its not the main reason for going for a 292.Its one of those watches that needs to be seen.Much better than in pics !!!

Thanks for the follow up report. You can't go wrong with the 292 even if just as an investment, but it would be a keeper for me.

Is the 233 getting hard to find?
My AD here in Michigan had one as well
if they are hard to find and someone wants
to get it from an AD in the US let me know.

Oh forgot, the pig/subbie on the dial is actually very nice.Much more three-dimensional,compared to how it looks in pics.Very nice addition which ads to its uniqueness.

Since the AD only received this earlier this week and its a J serial (2007)with the pig,it means Panerai are still slowly releasing them into the market. That may explain why some have waited for nearly two years for theirs and why they are so hard to find.

The 309,still cant get over it how light it is with the Ti casing. If you compare that to my 289,the 289 is much more hefty.I prefer the weight presence, some will love the lightness of the 309.I guess it comes down to personal preference.

.... and again I say, anyone wanting to make te step into the wonderful world of Panerai, the 111 is a winner !!! I like it !!

I prefer the 177 to the 111, i think for real world use a polished SS case and bezel isn't the best idea

Not true. Its very easy to remove scratches from a polished surface ,with either Wenol Red or Cape Cod.Wth a brushed surface any removal of a scratch running across the grain of the brush, removes the brushed surface too. So,in a sense polished is more practical. I wear my 104 and 231 the most of all and there is very few dents and no scratches. The small scratches remove easily.

Bought the Wenol Red a few years ago at an antique shop.Visite them recently and they told me they cant get anymore.Rumour is ,its not manufactured anymore. So,the other day my wife grabs my Wenol to clean a set of brass giraffes we have in the living room .......... I grabbed my Wenol and as eloquently as possible, showed her the way to the Brasso !!!

Wow the 292! man you are thinking about it too much!!!!

I am one of those who have been waiting for a year for my 292 to get to my AD! Curiosly I was the first one to ask for one... I guess no one even asks for it as they know it is close to imposible to get one from and AD!!!

Get the 292 and send us some nice pics! that strap you mention sounds great to! I intend to change the strap for a thick dark brown as soon as I can get my hands on one!

Good luck!
