A great trade???
As it says, trade
16610lv + 116710blnr + a little cash = 116509 in blue ???? Crazy idea just popped in my head the other day and can't get it out of my mind.... |

I wouldn’t do it ... you got 2 stunners right there. Would just save up for a 116509, which should be available when you’re ready for it.

Does this help?
I own the LVc which is a stunner but the 509 is very special and I much prefer the older GMT and even the Tudor GMT vs the new Rolex GMT The WG Daytona is very special. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So you are thinking about giving up two highly desired pieces PLUS cash for a less desired piece? Any other questions?

Honestly, that’s one of the worst deals I’ve come across.
Besides 2 for 1 is almost never good. And especially if you are adding cash. Aren’t you concerned you’ll miss on or both? I would. |

Depends on how much cash. If you can get into the watch for $25k total less it'd be a good deal.

2 SS for 1 PM is a very good deal, used to be 3 or even 4 were needed, just the current climate is ridiculously skewed, don't fall for all the SS/commodity nonsense, get the PM if you want it.

Agreed, and I am not sure what “highly desired” has to do with anything other than $. Highly desired by whom? Personally, I don’t want a watch juts because others want it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

All good points. I guess ultimately the thought comes down to the fact I have 2 pieces that are (in my opinion) ridiculously overpriced. I paid $7k for the LV and less than MSRP for the BLNR (this was before the hype). So for me, I can trade out of 2 SS pieces and get into a PM Daytona +/- a little cash (if needed). If I ended up missing those pieces, my take is that at some point down the road I could acquire them back for less.
Obviously, all speculation on pricing, but based on everything going on in the market, it piqued my curiosity. Thanks for the input! |

You will ALWAYS regret selling pieces my friend, especially those. If you want the WG Daytona, save for it and buy it. Build the collection, you will be happier in the end. |

Add your two and a few thousand and you could have made this trade 4 years ago. You are going down a dangerous road with your thinking. Either you love the PM Daytona and must have it or you love the SS Pros and must keep them. Avoid all this value transfer business, unless the whole watch thing to you is just about the financials and the deal. |

I'd slow roll on that thougt. I would never do that in a million years. Of course it's your choice and it's the right choice if you love it.

I'm not a big hype guy, but in this case it doesn't make sense to give up two "hot" pieces for a Daytona that should be readily available. Plus, you have a great combo in terms of variety. That Daytona is beautiful, but not worth 2 plus cash.

I would consider the BLNR and cash but no way on the LV. The LV is being sold all over the place for 13-24k and the BLNR around 14-15k so between the 2 you have some pretty good trade leverage. Extra cash to boot? NO WAY.
But again if you want it then do what makes you happy. I just feel imho you would have a whole lot tougher time replacing the 2 you have versus the 509.

Depends what you want. The LV isn’t gonna ride high forever. David has one now in excellent condition in the $13k so what do you think he traded it for?? Maybe $11.5k?

To further expand on my earlier post, depends on what you paid for your 2 watches. I wouldn't pay any cash, but the two ss watches should be enough.

Yeah that Daytona is way better than those steel pieces

I've owned that same watch with a different dial and currently have the other two. As good as the concept sounds the LV and BLNR in reality deliver more for me than the Daytona. I just strongly prefer SS professional models and it's a big plus that you can have a few for the same money as a gold piece.

It is what you want the LV and BLNR are both way over priced IMPO as of now. I not sure what a little cash means but if you really want a WG Daytona then go for it.

I might be in the minority here, but I’d do that deal. Depends on how much cash.

I would do the deal and put your name down for another steel piece you like at an AD that day. That will give you time to save 9k while you wait which is a lot easier than saving $36k. Plus you clearly love the PM Daytona so go for it.

I think as stated, how much cash is the issue...if it was an outright trade for the 2 watches you would hit a home run imho.

A great trade???
I’m not a Daytona fan but this is a no brainer to get into a PM piece if you don’t have to part with much cash and you like it.
The blue dial is definitely a looker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

IMO - and I understand its likely in the minority - but I found the blue dialed white gold Daytona curiously underwhelming. If it had met my perhaps excessive expectations I was prepared to buy it from the AD despite that being likely a poor financial decision. As such, I'd never do the deal for the PM myself.

I would let go the BLNR and plus cash for the Daytona, I think the LV is a keeper.

I have a 116509. Hardly wear it. Once I put on my new 116610ln, I have rarely taken it off. Just love the feel of it. My Daytona sits staring at my older Rootbeer. Your call. Save up enough and buy it. Keep the others in case you change your mind.
