Some snake oil to start the week right

A doctor friend of mine recommended an IV infusion, apparently it’s really good for you and he says lots of people feel better afterwards. Let’s see how I feel after, maybe it’ll be a good start to the week. I’m not sure if the benefits would outweigh just drinking a Gatorade lol

It’s some concoction, he said it’s NAD treatment which is used for all sorts of stuff. From drug rehab, to chemo patients. He offered the treatment for free, so I didn’t ask many questions. I’ll be planted for a few hours though. Might finish Dark Crystal while waiting.

Jesus Christ, each to their own but what you’ve just said sounds MENTAL to me. Don’t know what it is and didn’t ask many questions?!?!?!

Your friend: I want to do something for free for you. I will just inject you with the stuff for an hour or so, okay?

You: You had me at free.

Keith Richards used to swap all eight pints of his blood for someone else’s to get a visa for American tours. A bit like an oil change in a car. Says he always felt great after.

Odd that Keith didn't mention that in his autobiography when he was so brutality honest about everything else, including admiting making up the story of having his blood cleansed in Switzerland.

NYC has the Hangover Doctor. My daughter is a BSN, works part time for Drip. She’s been to many celebrity homes giving IV infusions. She can make $500 in 4 hours.

So you agreed to have something infused into your body without asking any questions about it because it was for free??????

Doctors also used to think blood letting was good for you. That belief killed thousands.

I'll stick to taking my liquids orally (with a little malted barley and hops for flavour).

Are you in a medical facility or is this IV being administered at some home. There is absolutely no reason for an IV unless you are nauseous/incapacitated/aspiration prone and can’t just drink it.

I’m at my friends practice. IV infusions are really becoming popular for all sorts of things. I trust my friend, he’s a qualified doctor that’s just trying to see how this IV trend is going. I’m his guinea pig, it’s literally just fluids.

Not worried.

But I guess people just want to get mad and call me mental. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just read your follow up post. As long as you are consenting. I don’t think it’s mental. Just want to make sure a fellow TRF member is safe. Enjoy the free treatment.

I'm a hospital pharmacist that MAKE / DISTRIBUTE stuff like this, so let me know more about this "IV Infusion" that makes you feel better. It could be as benign as a cold LR.

Some of my colleagues were discussing it a while back. It’s a business in Vegas. Just need an MD, DO, or NP license on the line, have some nurses insert a peripheral, administer IV fluids or a banana bag, then invoice the client for some ridiculous amount.

That’s what I heard! He said he has wealthy clients that pay to get their hangovers cured after a crazy night out. People doing this before they head in to work. I can’t even imagine getting that trashed before work though. It’s hard to believe you can just cure a hangover in an hour or so.

I don’t like posting specific medical advice online since medical advice is so dependent on specific patient circumstances, but here’s a good Harvard blog post on the topic: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/...-2018092814899

General medical disclaimer here that if anyone feels unwell enough to think they need an IV, go see a doctor!

Now, back to watches!!

lol snake oil indeed. This is a fad, not evidence-based medicine.

Nice watch though! I’m liking the LN GMT more and more lately.
