New guy on the block

I recently registered with the rolex forum and I can only say I am impressed with everything about this forum. I am amazed at how much knowledge I have absorbed in the last few weeks reading through numerous threads. I hope to be a strong member of the forum and provide many posts. As I posted earlier, I am a proud owner of a vintage 1975 Rolex DJ 1603. At the time I purchased it (from a very respectable Jeweler) I really didn't realize anything about vintage Rolexes and how valuable they can be, I only knew I was getting my first Rolex and was understandably excited about it. Anyway, now I understand more about Rolex and the importance of keeping the vintage models alive. I am going to try and post a few pictures if the forum allows, but if I still can't get them up, I'll continue to keep trying. Oh, also I learned my Rolex has a grey sigma dial and understand it means somehow gold was used in the process of making the dial. Is this correct? Supposedly the sigma dials were a limited production and are no longer used. Is this correct? Anyway, I thank those of you who respond and appreciate being a part of this forum. Found out I still don't have enough posts to load any pictures. will do so soon. There is a picture of my Rolex as my avatar (it's a start). Thanks again.

Anybody can post photos as attachments as long as they meet the file size maximums.

Sigma dials came about in the 70's to show either steel (-), or gold (o) surrounds and hands during the transition to all gold surrounds and hands throughout the line.
