Rolex Submariner Servicing
Hello
New to this I have a bi metal rolex sub I sent it if for a service after seeing a advert for a special offer, the company is reputable but feel there advertising is a bit misleading they said a full service was under £400 including basic parts for a service which I thought was fine. My query was the costs went up £90+ vat because its gold stainless bi metal and apparently requires more specialised cleaning, (what company stated when I asked why the quote was more ) the quote states gold stainless refurbishment £0 included. total costs including parts is £900 Inc. What do you think? Thanks |

Ok, while you're still here.
What is the model number and/or original purchase date of the Sub? What is the name of the company doing the service? Why are you having the watch serviced? Now I'll turn it over to the folks in the UK. |

Hello
It's 1990 sub bi metal Getting it serviced as not been done in 7 years or more but was working fine, they stated lost a few seconds in 24 hrs and failed water test, but have used it alot. My query was why the case refurbishment would be more being bi metal when quote states zero costs but when I queried extra costs I was told it was because its a bi metal and the precious metal requires two types of polishing, which I get but then why state on quote £0 costs for case bracelet refurbishment. Nessasary Services 4-year Limited Warranty (T&Cs apply) £0.00 Administration Fee £24.99 Rolex Complete Service - September Offer: complimentary axle for auto weight, mainspring and case back gasket - £586.37 Case and Bracelet Refurb - Gold and Steel £0.00 Necessary Parts MAINSPRING £0.00 AXLE FOR OSCILLATING WEIGHT £0.00 CROWN £210.00 CASE TUBE £90.00 GLASS GASKET £0.00 CASE BACK GASKET £0.00 |

Never service a Rolex that does not need it. Anytime a watch is opened something can go wrong. IMO.

I know some folks purposely send to HK RSC for servicing because its cheaper there. Anyone here can attest to that?

Standard practice at Omega. Stainless gets one price, Precious metals, get a higher price.. Even if both watches have the exact same movements (and you don't want the watch polished).

Don't get it polished on a two tone will never look the same from factory plus the middle links will look the same in a month.
