New to Panerai | Need your advices.
The last years i have the bad habit when i see a watch that i like it gets to my mind and then my life turns around it until i buy it... ( i hope i will find plenty of people that understand me in these forums )
Now i have been in love with Panerai watches and generally with 2 them. Pam 422 and Pam 233. Now i have found the Pam422 year of 2016 serviced in a good condition from what i saw in photos in the price of 5.000 euros. Because i bought a new Rolex gmt2 blnr before 9 months and i feel slightly crazy to spend all that money i want your advice. Do you think that the price is really good? i would be able to find a Pam 422 of 2016 again at this price? or i have to buy that now? Thank you in advance. |

I think used/old Panerai is the way to go .I feel you tho. Havent had a new watch since 2010. So I got the itch a few months ago. Couldn't stop looking at batman and hulk but crazy prices right now on rollies . But ended up getting a hulk a month ago. At the same time I was still looking at the new panerai submersibles but refused to spend that much on a new panerai especially since it's not in house movements. Ended up getting the older 682. So I need to stop looking now for at least another 5 years.haha

Both the 422 and 233 are super watches and classics within the regular production range of Panerai. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
As for the price of the 422 that sounds like a good price, assuming it is complete box and papers. As for whether that price will still be around in the future is hard to know as the 422 (like the 372) is so classic that an increased interest in Panerai by collectors could cause to prices to rise. It looks to me as if 372 is not going to fall further and if Panerai were to discontinue the 372/422 I'm confident that prices would rise quickly. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk |

Both the 233 and the 422 are great classic DNA Panerai watches. The price on the 422 seems like a fair deal. I would get it and scratch the itch and you will know. Good luck.

233 unless the price is an issue.

I’d also vote 233, but I’m currently sporting a 312 and would recommend it as well.

Do you want date? The date is a blessing and a curse...I would say 233 is more versatile due to its smaller size and you can wear crocs and leathers. For a single panerai, 233 is a really nice model that embodies a lot of panerai traits.

I may be a bit biased but I would pick the 422. Why? Aside from being a gorgeous time piece, buying it for 5.000 euros (approx 5,500 USD) would be yielding you a VERY good deal. Personally I have watched the watch for years before purchasing it. I paid significantly higher and believe my deal was good. I can't imagine you having a difficult time parting ways with it at the same cost you paid if not minimally making a few.
