Hi guys I'm really new wanting to know more about how and why watch prices fluctuate. Not sure on which Rolex model to purchase but love the Daytonas.

Welcome to the forums. Get the watch you want and do not focus on the "investment" aspect of the watch.

You are better off investing in the stock market. Only buy a watch you love. It may or may not go up in value over the years. If people knew for sure they would all be rich. Looking back at the one successful modern watch and buying it for investment is a logical fallacy called cherry-picking. We cannot foretell the future.

Take your time and only buy what you love with money can afford to flush down the toilet. Rolex generally hold value pretty well, but if you NEED to sell one in the future then unless if is for some isolated personal reason you can bet that there will be LOADS of others trying to sell at the same time. At that point they are terrible investments and pretty illiquid without having a steep discount to market prices.

Watches are jewellery to be bought with money you don't need and enjoyed for illogical reasons. Stocks, bonds, ETFs, property etc are for investment.
