Dilemma: Should I sell my 1 week old DJ41 blue jubilee?

I know this is crazy. I just got the watch September 17 after an 18 week wait (I ordered it May 19).

My plan was to use my Sub ND as my sport watch and the DJ41 as my dressy-sport watch. But in July my AD offered me a BLNR jubilee totally unexpected. While I had no intention to purchase a third Rolex, I did.

I truly love all three watches but the BLNR is my favorite.

I know a lot of you on this forum will say “keep all three” and I completely understand your point of view ... as collectors. But I’m not really a collector. I’m an enthusiast who loves his watches. And I prefer to have a collection of 2 pieces that I bond with. I envisioned wearing my dressier piece to work, then switching out to the Sub for play and weekends. The third watch kinda throws a wrench into the works.

So, should I sell the new DJ41 since the GMT currently fills its role? Or do you have another suggestion (keep DJ41 & Sub, DJ41 & GMT, etc)?

man, I love that blue dial jubilee... I prefer the white, but the blue is outstanding.

but a 060/710 combo is wonderful!

I like the diversity the DJ offers, personally the other two are too close.

This. The GMT and Sub are too similar if you don't want to keep all 3.

DJ needs a fluted bezel. I'd sell it and never look back.

Touch choice. While I agree that fluted bezel + jubilee is more suited for DJ41, I also agree that Sub and GMT are kind of similar. Perhaps keep GMT, sell DJ41 and Sub and get DJ41 fluted or... maybe keep GMT alone and save up for a DayDate, which is the ultimate Rolex in my book.

I'll also agree with this. Tough call but I also prefer fluted bezels on the DJ. Good luck.

I agree. The DJ’s got to go for this very reason.

Sell the Sub. If only keeping two a DJ (dress) and GMT (sport) work perfectly

Agreed. DJ is a dressy daily. GMT is a sports watch. GMT and Sub are similar. GMT can do anything a Sub can and more. (most of us aren't going to dive and even if we are most recreational diving can be easily done with a GMT. If I was OP, I'd probably source an Oyster bracelet for 126710 (he can try his Submariners bracelet and source the exact same bracelet for GMT if it fits)

Right now, I have a DJ41 smooth Jubilee and a GMTc TT and I think they fit well together.

I’d sell the DJ41, beautiful as that dial may be.

I’d never sell anything with glidelock personally and it sounds like you’re enjoying the BLNR.

A First World problem. If you want a dress watch to wear with shirt and tie or jacket or suit you should keep the DJ. The GMT is really nice and I am on a list for one, but as you really only want 2, sell it and bank some money.

Why make a quick decision that you may regret later? Keep all 3 for a few weeks or months before deciding.

Exactly.....plus the DJ41 will be a refreshing and comfy change to rotate with. I really want to say keep all 3. I have that trio and couldn't sell any.

This. It doesn't sound like money is the issue, and aside from any scratches you may pick up from wearing them, an extra month or two isn't going to affect the value of whatever you decide to part with.

If only two watches, I’d keep BLNR and sell the other two for something more special. Either PM Rolex or maybe something on a leather strap like a Lange Saxonia or JLC ultra thin moonphase.

If your DJ was on fluted bezel or the BNLR on an oyster this would be a no brainer. A dressy DJ with a sporty BNLR are very complimentary.
As it is the sub and BNLR are both what I would consider sport models and very similar looks.
Im this case I would keep the BNLR and sub sell the DJ, but to me the best combo would be the DJ 41 with fluted bezel and jubilee and the BNLR on an oyster.
My current collection is the DJ 41 on jubilee with fluted bezel a more dressy every day watch with a pre ceramic ND sub on an oyster for play/weekend.
Any way you you go you will have a couple of great watches that you will enjoy for a long time. Enjoy them
