Daytona on Jubilee?

Whilst waiting to be served at our busy local bar, last evening, my left ear rotated through 45 degrees when I overheard a couple of hooray Henry's loudly discussing their Rolexes. 'Pink Cords' was brandishing his, old looking Cellini, his drinking buddy,
'Mustard Cords' was telling everyone within earshot, how he wanted to buy a new GMT, but got fed-up waiting, and went for the white gold Daytona he was wearing, which he was pleased to tell all and sundry, cost him "500 quid less than the 18K being asked for the steel, black and blue GMT".

The most interesting part of this encounter, and the reason I'm relating it here,
is that the Daytona he was wearing, was on a Jubilee bracelet (with a hidden clasp).
Is that an unusual combination?

I’ve seen several pictures of the Daytona on Jubilee ... personally, I think it looks better than on Oyster.

So it was a modern white gold Daytona with a jubilee bracelet? That doesn’t sound right at all.

Looks much better on the oyster. IMO the jubilee makes the Daytona look dainty

Agree to disagree lol

As for this OP, I don't even think fitting a jubilee on a WG daytona is possible. Something is weird.

It wouldn't fit on a WG Daytona that came on a strap, but would possibly fit a WG Daytona that originally came on a bracelet?

My guess is he paid £17,500 for a SS Daytona and put in on a Jubilee.

More common than you might think, and I might add quite stunning. Can it be ordered this way?

The Daytona cannot be ordered with a Jubilee bracelet - only comes on the Oyster (always has I believe).

Owners are placing them on the 63600 Jubilee bracelet as others have stated.

That looks great to me. While I do quite like the oyster bracelet, I've always slightly preferred the jubilee for both looks and comfort.

How's the fit of the endlink? Is it flush, or wiggly?

It's not 100% perfect. There's no wiggle and no gap but the height isn't perfect. It's very close though, and like all things if you look to close might bother you, but I'm pretty picky and have no issues with the fit of a 63600 on a 116500, 16710, 116710 and 214270. I know it fits others but those are the only ones in my experience. Oh I have put the 63600 on 116610 as well but there was too much wiggle and gap for my preference.

I actually like the look of this. It would be nice if it was a configuration option.

I like it, makes the Daytona look racy. The Oyster is after all a diving bracelet. I'm not taking my Oysters off my Daytonas though.

First we brought you the Batgirl and now we present "The Race Girl." Let the trolling commence.

But seriously, the Jubilee looks way more appropriate/proportionate on the Daytona than a GMT imho.

Suddenly everyone wants to put a jubilee on everything.

What’s next - jubilee on a sub.

The Jubilee was an option on the Daytona in the 60's and early 70's, so it is not blasphemous for owners of the current reference to long for that vintage look by swapping the Oyster for a Super Jubilee. And yes, it also was an option for the Submariner for a time.
