His theories are ridiculous, disregard!

I've read this before as well. Your name wouldn't happen to be Greg, would it?

Actually, it is Grigoriy (Russian version of Gregory), but American tongues don't turn in certain direction, so I had to simplify it for y'all

Greg was a nice guy from Texas who used to post on the forum, and would put up a dire straits type of thread every few days.

Since I already live in my own little world, I don't see the problem.

How many different ways are there to say bull****? We are in a heap of trouble and that's for damn certain, but the US will come back, as we always have. Capitalism will prevail!

One of my close relatives is a Moscow businessman, the kind you used to read about in financial journals when things were well. His exact words are - 'the entire world is in the sh**ter, but only US will come out of it smelling like a piece of candy!' I add to it most truly capitalistic societies - we have to remember - everything is cyclical.

I think everybody is just scared. I now understand what FDR meant in his "fear" speech.
I have lost 35% of my retirement, after today, maybe 37%? who knows My wife and I wanted to sell biz and retire at 55 but now I dont think that will happen. The only plus is that I think Texas will (has) weather(ed) the financial storm better than other states, so far it has and we are happy we live here. |

What a dummy!
“The dollar isn’t secured by anything,” Igor Panarin said in an interview transcribed by Russian newspaper Izvestia today. The last time I was in Russia, they seemed to prefer being paid with the good old US Dollar instead of Rubles.

Doom and Gloom predictions are prevalent today due to the world economic climate. I feel that we can all weather the storm and eventually the world economy will rebound and be stronger than ever. Of course some of the major players in the game could change!!!

I'd like to think that, as in most hardships, times are tough, valuable lessons are learned, and a stronger outcome eventually prevails.

Im worried about Chrysler and our 07 Dodge Caravan, bought a 5 year ex warranty. If they go under I guess the warranty is going with it? Its sad I spent more time reading this today than calling clients. I know the answer before I call. |

What these characters seem to forget is that the US is populated by a majority people who themselves or their ancestors left places like Russia and China to find a better life. From the Pilgrims to the Irish to the Jews etc., etc., to present day immigrants from disfunctional countries across the globe. This fact alone will insure the US prevails and will self rectify. Both Russia and China are fundamentally totalitarian states and have have deep socio political problems. Knocking the US helps distract their people from these problems. We screwed up but at least we acknowledge it!
