Utter Disappointment. What would you have done?
Got a call today that a SD43 was in and available for me.
I confirm, SD43, not Deep Sea...correct? Sales rep says yes: SD43. Immediately left work and drove an hour in north NJ traffic (horror show). I had been watching YouTube reviews of the SD 43 all weekend. Sort of fell in love with the watch already. Now, the whole time in the car I am on cloud 9 (visualizing taking the watch on vacation, etc...). Get to the AD and she pulls out a black Deep Sea. My heart sank. I could only muster up “That’s a Deep Sea..”. The sales rep is clearly shaken and apologizes. I drink the water they gave me, thank her, asked her to still consider me for the SD43 and leave. In and out in like 5 minutes. The drive back home was in the heart of north NJ rush hour. Horror show again. I’m so deflated. |

Silver lining is that I think you just assured yourself the next SD43 from this AD.

Ditto. I don't know your AD's flow, but I'd be suprised if you don't get it before Christmas, maybe thanksgiving

That suuuucks, but props for handling it in a classy way. And in a few years when you've been enjoying the watch for years, you won't care that you waited a little longer to get it. |

Yikes. I would hope that they ensure the next one goes to you.

Try to use it to your advantage and leverage it. I got the SD43 two weeks ago and absolutely love it. The red font makes it soooooo sexy. The 43mm is the perfect size as well. Good luck sir.

So yeah I think the 43 with the smaller profile frame is perfect. |

I was in an AD looking at an Explorer and asked her to show me how the easylink extension worked. She looked at me like I was mad and when I asked again she said “we have tools to adjust the watch bracelet for you”
She literally had no idea what the Easylink extension is. |

lol you are right. These poor ADs are doing their best. Now I feel like an unreasonable demanding customer asking the Rolex SA how a Rolex feature works

If only rolex assigned unique numbers that would identify the product?

Same thing happened to me last week! I clarified on the phone, its the SD43, 43mm, not a Deepsea. Luckily she sent me a text with a pic and politely declined. I sent her back a pic of the watch I am interested in, the SD43 :)

I said the same to my wife. Retrospectively I should have asked for a pic or sent one.

1) The salespeople just don't pay close attention or 2) The black Deep Sea's are not moving like the rest of the SS models and so they are offering to people waiting on an SD43 in the hopes that they come in and decide to buy anyway. |

I didn't specify, but but the Deep Sea they pulled out was the black which I know is less desirable than the James Cameron. We'll see what happens. |

I’m surprised she didn’t try to convince you to buy it as some part of a staggered bundle for what you really want. FOMO is a strong motivator. Any Rolex is better than no Rolex, or so they say.

Well, if they are a reputable AD then you will be the first call the next time they do get a SD43 in. You will just have to wait and see.
If I were you, I would send them a card saying no hard feelings, you realize it was a honest mistake, and please keep you in mind for when that next SD comes in. A gesture like that, I think, might go a long way to securing it for you. |

This is a case where reference numbers come in handy.
Sorry for your inconvenience, OP.
