Thoughts on trade? 116618LB for 116519LN
What do y'all think I would need to add ($) in a trade for my YG Sub 116618LB in exchange for a WG Daytona 116519LN?
Assume everything else is equal between them. About a year old, same condition, b&p etc. I know I would need to add cash, but how much in this market? |

Personally, I would not sell the 116618LB for the WG Daytona on OF

Have both. To answer your question, if it were me, it would depend on what else is in the collection. Or is this for a one and only?

I also have: Sub Date 116610LN YG Daytona 116508LN (black dial with champagne subdials) GMT Pepsi from '84 16750 Royal Oak blue dial 15400 I am attracted to the WG Dayton on OF because I could totally daily it and it will also be a PM while doubling as a sporty versatile piece. |

I’d choose to have that sub traded towards a YG DD40 or same for the YG Daytona. I just prefer to have one professional YG and one classic YG, (that’s just me) And you’re left with three white metal watches and two YG pieces. I wear YG fairly regularly...YMMV. Like I said, very personal choice, but all good outcomes! Good luck! |

Whatever your heart desires! Would not add cash as part of the trade, as you are trading down imo
... Would be a very nice incoming though |

It does hurt my feelings to add cash when trading a full PM for a PM on rubber.... but the market does not care about my feelings. |

Depends on with whom you're trading. If to a grey dealer, you'll probably get low 20s for your 116618LB and be paying $30k for the 116519LN. If with another collector, the market difference is only about $2k.

Never. If I ever get a full YG Sub with the blue dial I'd never trade that especially if your adding money on top. No way on earth.

Prefer Subs so I am biased. Would not do that. Ever think about acquiring an Oyster Flex and rotate it on your existing Daytona. Like 2 in one. Bracelet or strap.

Nope, don’t like that trade at all if you are adding cash.

Why not go for a two tone Daytona? It will save you quite a bit of money and is less money than a SS Daytona by a long shot.

No, do not like that trade, even if it were a straight-up one for one trade.

As others have said it would be darn tough to part with a full PM bracelet for a rubber one. I have a 116618LN and would never part with the bracelet in a trade like that. Frankly I don't care for the design, nor cost of the OF.

I have the gold subc and thought about trading it for the WG OF but just wasn't enough watch there to replace it, not by a long way.

I totally get what you're saying. I have both pieces, and while the YG sub is on another level in terms of looks and feel, if the watch apocalypse happened and I had to go down to one, I would probably keep the Daytona. Probably.
I think in the end it just comes down to how the watch fits into your lifestyle and whatever niche it fills. As you said, the Daytona is a much more versatile and discreet wearer. A word about the OF straps, though. If you do trade, make sure you negotiate the correct size strap into the deal. If you think it's going to hurt your feelings to add cash to your sub, imagine how it's gonna feel if you have to buy a $350 strap on top of that. |

I actually just picked up the 519. I love it, but I don't know that I'd make that trade. Then again, I wasn't in your situation.
Either way, they're both great! |
