Dial for new watch

I recently acquired a 118238. I like the dial but was considering switching to a luminous version. Is it worth it and is the lume good enough to consider switching?
Thanks
Dan

If you like sticks better than Romans, yes. If not I wouldn't switch just for lume. 99% of the time your looking at the dial in a lit situation. I like the added character of the Roman dial.

No-lume is much more desirable and rarer.

Romans are much nicer on the 118238. Rolex lume sucks anyways.

You would need to get lume hands too. I say leave as is ... it looks great.

If you want lume but you like the dial, this is a reasonable way to go. Some no-lume dials were offered with and without lumed hands.

stick with no lumes. the lues over time can get patina. even though the lumes are ov new material. it is just one more thing to worry about over time.

I wouldn’t. The Roman dial is much more attractive.

I think you can only do that after the warranty expires , and you also have to give Rolex your old dial in exchange for a new one.

I'm not a fan of roman dials and the lack of lume is one of the main reasons. If you desire lume would go ahead and swap the dial, there are tons of options that you can choose.

If you send the watch to an RSC center you could swap dials through them but they would only offer you other dial options that were specifically available to your model and years of production (ant they will keep the original dial); if you do it through a private watchmen you can keep the roman dial for a future swap down the road if you change your mind or want to sell it with the original re-installed.

If OP were to decide to sell the watch in the future, does changing the dial affect the value of the watch? Would going through a Rolex authentic and reference/year-original dial change anything?

Gold Roman numerals on a white dial is one of my favourite dials, don’t change it.
