Rolex Day-Date

One day I would love to own a DD. ? is, what type of dial color would you get? I would also get WG, (Platinum would be out of my range) bracelet YG doesn't suit my style and no diamonds. I would purchase one pre-loved. What would the price range be and where would you look for one? Pics and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Straight up white dial with romans, white gold, fluted, I would look for this used on Trf

Or rose with olive dial and fluted, Romas

Or plat with blue dial and domed, Roman’s

Have a look at Chrono24 to get an idea on prices for different WG iterations as well as dial options.

My 18239 came with Silver

I sourced and added a Blue Dial

I love WG DD36... Never thought I’d love the White Roman Dial until I had it on my wrist

The first DD should ALWAYS be a YG piece.

I was thinking the first DD should be your favorite combo. Your second DD should be your second favorite combo, etc.

Why not pull off a 40?
I have a 6.5” wrist and fits great.
To me, wears a bit smaller than my sub or GMTs.
Go for it!

White gold with blue dial is nice. I went for the rose gold with green dial and love it!

Depending on your budget a Pt DD36 might still be in the cards....

I would love to get a Platinum one. Getting a WG DD would be a stretch for me. But that one you picked is gorgeous! I currently have a DJ 36 grey 1991. So I would get like to get a different dial other than grey and a different look. YG is a no for me. Just not me.

Honestly if were to get a DD I probably would spend around 10K pre-owned obviously. Perhaps I would spend a little more for Platinum. PT would be a dream. 36mm only. 40mm to big for me.

I own this reference and it is stunning. Not that many came with the glacier waves Arabic dial which I think is the most gorgeous dial they have ever made. Should be able to get one in the high 20’s.

Olive dial or glacier blue variations if you don't mind the fluted bezel factor.

Don’t get one until you can afford the one you really want.

I’m a proponent of YG for a Day Date but if you must go WG get the DD40 with the blue dial.

You said wanted white gold, I agree with you is the way to go! (unless you can afford a platinum 18206 / 118206 / 218206)

Many dials to choose from...... have gone through 4 different dials on my 36 mm 18239:

Originally silver:

Then white:

Then glacier blue with diamonds (platinum exclusive dial):

And now blue:
