Why do you ask?
To cheap a deal to be real, dodgy seller or your not quite sure on a watch you have already bought?

Bought this watch a few weeks ago. A little concerned about its authenticity. Just looking for some more skilled eyes than mine is all :/.

Why did you buy it if you didn’t know if it was real?

Based on your concern, I’m assuming you bought it as a fake? No way you paid ‘real Rolex money’ for a fake watch.

Send it to RSC for a service, they’ll give you an estimate for repairs. If it’s fake, they’ll let you know. Easy as that.

This should be a canned response on these threads from now on.

To the poster: if you’re buying 13k watches without verifying authenticity, you are going to get burnt in watch collecting sooner than later.

With all the wasted keystrokes on this thread. I would have hoped one person would have shared even a little bit of useful information to help a newbie out. I clearly came to the wrong place. I’m not sure why the circumstances of possession matter so much.

This isn’t a car forum where you can key stroke an answer on google and paste here.

You’re asking people to do quite a bit and even a noob says hello and offers a dog a bone. Like a backstory to help cut the time down.

You know, like when you visit a doctor.

If you want people to help, help them help you.

So? What’s the back story? Why do you feel it’s not ‘legit’? Was there a box? Did you buy it in an alley?

You asked for our opinions. Just because you don’t like the answers, that’s not our problem.

Newbs wouldn’t be so disrespectful. Instead of providing details, you deflect.

That’s enough for me to know what’s really going on.

This thread should be closed.

Rolex engraving the clasp looks fishy. But I'm not sure. We need some good photos of the clasp. The dial looks alright. Some better res pictures would help if you can.

Best advice for newbies is not to buy expensive Rolex from non-verifiable sources. Stick to AD's and Boutiques

OP,

The added pics help but I personally can't say for certain.

There are simply too many 'good' clones being produced today. I've even seen real accessories, bracelets, boxes being used but the watch heads being fake.

As you did say you already bought it, I'd get it checked at an AD to put the issue to rest. In fact, that's the best course of action if it wasn't bought at a very well trusted place, AD or a seller with a reputation to protect.

Clasp looks great, engravings look ok, the metal has a really nice shine. Looks good to me. But it would not hurt to take it to a Rolex jeweler and open the back. Just make sure they use the right tools and not an amateur kit.

Where did you buy it? How much did you pay for it? If the deal was to good for a highly sought out Rolex, than I’ll be concerned.

Where he bought has no relevance.
He has provided additional better quality photos.
Unless my eyes are failing me, I see no difference When compared to my BLNR.

OP, can you help other TRF members avoid having doubts about buying a watch? Can you provide the details of your purchase? Obviously something wasn’t right if you’re already having second thoughts about it’s authenticity.

General rule:

If you have to ask if it's real, and you bought it form a random site/person for a deal...

Its probably fake.

Trick is to do your research BEFORE you spend 5 figures, not after

Looks a damn sight better than most of the stuff that gets posted here.

Regarding the majority of the posts critiquing the OP, is the time really necessary? OP enquiries within a watch forum which contains hundreds a of similar threads. Newbie doesn’t necessarily know that lacking some details can be a bit suspicious.

The comparison to going to see your doctor and providing the backstory - eh naw.

Part of the problem OP is that people are constantly posting pix of Replica's
in various states of added Genuine parts to see if they pass muster. The pix you posted are the kind of non detailed pix typically submitted that don't show the known "tells". That, & that you're a noobie. I'm fairly new here myself & already I'm skeptical of anyone newer that me !

I have the 116710 of a similar vintage and there are some differences with your watch.

When you press down on your bezel is it solid or squishy?
