Gmt vs 58 - help!
Hey All,
I need to make a a serious decision of whether I keep my 58 and get rid of the GMT or vice versa (not selling it, will be going to my dad) So far, my argument is... GMT more practical Has a date wheel (lol - this is a different story in it self) Pepsi colours and I'm a fan of Pepsi. 58: Smaller Slimmer Sleek If you were to get rid of one, which one and why? Are we talking about Tudor GMT here?
If so, then your arguments stack up in terms of function towards the GMT so if I had to choose then overall it’d be the GMT that I KEEP. The 58 in my opinion wears much nicer than the Tudor GMT so I can see why you’re stuck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would keep the GMT as I absolutely love it as soon as I tried it on I know I had to have one. Although I suppose it depends on what other watches you have ?

I’d say keep the GMT seeing as you’ve got this and give the 58. My father isn’t a fan of wristwatches but if he was and I was to gift one then it’d be the 58 as I think he’d appreciate the comfort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Best solution would be to let your father pick between the 2 of them. He will enjoy it more and you will still get to keep a great watch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I would sell both and get a Submariner. I am a huge Tudor fan, but wouldn’t want 2 Tudor and no Rolex....assuming these are your only two watches.

Gift the 58
As dads get older we don't require a date as much as these younge whipper snappers. He would enjoy the comfort of the 58. Very nice of you by the way.

Hard to argue with this logic.

I would keep the Tudor GMT. I travel domestic frequently and internationally twice a year and the GMT function “may” be useful. It is 200m water resistant, and has a great design aesthetic that suits my taste and fits my wardrobe.
I think the 58 is a fine watch but the GMT is simply the better of the 2 to me. The only thing I don’t like about the 58 is the < 40mm case size. |

If you’re on the fence, let dad pick the one he wants and you can keep the other

I've never owned either of the two but I like the 58 more. Thinking of my dad who's not into watches I'd bet he would prefer wearing the 58 as well.

Does your Dad want either? If he is a watch guy I would say let him choose.
If I was him my choice would be the GMT as I love mine and find the complication very useful whether I am traveling or tracking time for our other domestic or international offices. |

I’d keep the 58. It is a special piece IMO. The GMT is a home run for Tudor but the Rolex version is better in every way (including demensions). There is no modern competition of the 58 as it is a world class diver with a 70+ hour power reserve, a vintage feel, modern build quality, 39mm (a unicorn in terms of value and size) - one of the more asked questions is 114060 vs 14060 and the 58 is basically if they were one watch.
If you don’t like guilt dial, rivet bracelet or like a larger watch then GMT is for you. Otherwise, this is a no brained for me. |
