I took mine to a jeweler even though I have the correct tool. On my ROO they were so tight even the jeweler had a tough time but did it flawlessly. I definitely would have done some damage on a solo mission.

Boutique is always best. I've had ADs scratch cases/lugs when doing a simple strap swap. Plus this is a great time to look at any models they have in stock and ask for any promotional items the boutique may have such as a hat, pen, etc...
If you are hellbent on doing it yourself, be careful and maybe even tape the lugs/side of case to prevent any mishaps. The finishing on APs is so fine that it shows everything much easier. You may also need a hairdryer/heatgun, depending on how solidified the loctite is, again be careful not to over do it and accidentally "heat treat" the bracelet/case or dry out the gasket under the bezel/caseback. Best of luck! |
