A new one from Panerai PAM01055
Love the look of it, good price BUT it's 42mm - thus from my perspective pointless.
Plus another limited edition. Why not just make stuff in standard production and let customers choose it without a manufacturer's frenzy. All said and done - I like the look. Would like it in at least 44mm, preferably 47mm in titanium :) Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk |

I’m sure some people will like it because it’s 42 mm.

LE of 500 available exclusively online. The website isn't clear on the movement, so I'm guessing an "OP"?
to WR of 300 meters. |

Put me on the camp that thinks this is a perfect release.
Different color -- and a good color for panerai .. 42mm is perfect for my wrist (notwithstanding that panerai's DNA is larger, i have dainty wrists and 42mm looks best for me). If i had 10k burning a hole in my pocket i would have ordered it. |

If this was with the same movement that is in the 682, I would have purchased it today. Currently looking at a preowned 682 instead.

anyone have any details on the P.900 movement? Wondering why they did not use the 682 movement.

its a new in house movement based on the OP XXXIV. may be people starting to complain about the non in house OP XXXIV movement on newer models like 683, 959, 973 and 960, that's why panerai go back to the in house route. and it is thinner than the 682 movement.

Even if the new movement is thinner, they are using almost the same case, if not the same (Hodinkee says this new one is 14.37mm and their 682 review quoted 14.5mm), so there doesn't seem to be any tangible benefit to using the thinner caliber. It's one of those things that if the other Luminors didn't have that feature, I probably wouldn't care, but armed with that knowledge, it's a decent chunk of cash to spend and feel like you're missing out on something when you're not being given a good reason for the change. |

It's a beauty but wouldn't consider paying that price for it.

I absolutely love this piece. I have always said they need more strap color options for the 42mm and I am glad to get the green color I love. It is just too bad we won't get one into our store or our boutique as I want to see the green dial before I would buy this piece. Maybe if we get a preowned one in the future.

It's not an OP movement, it's a P.900 movement.
As for pricing, I'll leave that to the market and the marketers. ;-) Yeah, it's nice to read positive things about Panerai from time to time, even if I try not to care either way. |
