Incoming - First Foray into AP

Thank you all for the collective wisdom here to learn about the various watches and navigating the AP boutique and dealer network.

I finally settled on a ROC and hope one day getting that amazing open work ceramic. Until then, enjoying this new addition to the collection. Kind of feels and wears like a huge Panerai despite the 41mm official size. Also emotionally kind of feels like a Lamborghini (AP) with the angular design and over engineering in a good way, over a Porsche (Rolex), and grateful to be able to experience both great brands.

I do find the boutique retail strategy to be paying off for the brand with a more consistent retail experience as the Rolex and PP dealer experience starts to get very inconsistent and out of hand in a bad way.

Congratulations. Amazing piece. I recently added a ROC blue dial back to my collection. Got lucky and scored one from an AD.

Great choice, looks good on you.

I added one to my collection about a month ago.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

@Collector2019, yes was very lucky IMO. And thank you for your sage and accurate advice in the original thread.

Some additional thoughts after a few days:
1. I love the look of the bracelet, but lack of Rolex easy adjustment has me eyeing the rubber strap conversion already and maybe a Rubber B in the interim.
2. Amazingly, this feels more luxurious than a PM Rolex. And maybe more delicate as well given how finely machined the AP is vs a ceramic PM Rolex.
3. Lastly for more photo fun and enablement, As much as I’m impressed by the AP, I’m even more impressed by how well the Tudor All Black can hold its own against this heavy hitter. It’s a real testament to brand power or lack thereof for Tudor. i.e. the design is near perfect for Tudor (except I hate the snow flake hour hand), but the emotional draw is not nearly the same, and I think that's where the power of the brand lies.

Completely agree with you. I even started a thread recently asking if people feel the same about t AP SS vs Rolex PM. Since I got my steel 15500 I have tried on several PM Rolex at ADs and have felt that they were much lower in quality than AP SS. Rolex SS however I remain a big fan of.

Did you end up getting it from NYC if I may ask?
