Maybe as a fad, but I don't think that design will stand the test of time. Rolex designs are more iconic, this is pretty forgettable.

I like my BBblue eta far more than the inhouse version that I replaced it for, mostly due to its lack of bulk and faux rivet bracelet. The forced patina i could have lived with as i thought it was a nice touch with the red bezel version that I had. Wherever the value goes has no bearing to me, it's a keeper either way.
