Two Pepsis go into a Light Box...

Hello forum members,

Before I was sent to juvenile detention I had planned to post these pictures of my August 2018 next to a July 2019 version.

Sure, most people now accept multiple versions of the new BLRO but these pics must surely be enough to convince any holdouts.

I love my MK I!

They actually do. A veeeery tiny difference can be seen in the second pic, but this wouldn’t have been enough evidence back when you wanted to prove a point.
I haven’t collected mine yet but I just hope the blue isn’t black or navy looking.
I’d be happier with a purple bezel than a dark navy blue one.

Agree. This is a classic case of confirmation bias at its finest if I’ve ever seen it. If only my college psychology profs could see me now!

Well, I think and therefore I am, but that course has long since passed me by. But one thing is for sure, and I’ll borrow a quote from spoon boy in the Matrix: “Only try to realize the truth... there is no MK2. Then you’ll see it is not the MK2 that changes, only yourself.” Haha

Agreed, so many questions come to mind! Like how someone has two Pepsi's and is still young enough to go to Juvy! Goes to show you that watch habits span all types of people and age ranges!

Love the BLRO's

I guess age discrimination is so 2010.

Why is that age discrimination? I am not hating, I am impressed! I wish I could have afforded a Pepsi before I was 18, more power to the OP!

Oh yeah by the way, this pic looks like it shows that the cut outs of the MK I bezel are less pronounced.

The bezel of my MK I is not as sharp as my BLNR, a topic already discussed and confirmed by Bas.

Can it be that the MK I metal bezel itself is also different?

Rolex has, and always will, continue to make minor changes to dials, bezels, handsets, bracelets, etc. Sometimes it's intentional, sometimes it's not. Sometimes the dial looks different because the batch came out different that day. Calling it a MKI and MKII is strange imo, because they are, for all intents and purposes, the same.

I totally understand why calling the MK1, MK2 and so on is strange, mostly cause I agree, there could be slight changes day to day.

But there can me no doubt we’ve seen some glaring differences in the bezel inserts, not just in color but in the thickness and style of the numbers. Most of these changes do happen to coincide with certain time periods. So for all intents and purposes, they’re definitely not the same, regardless of whether or not we’re calling them Mk1 MK2 or mk3.

Exactly that, and all this MK1MK2 MK3 and so on only exists in internet land, in the real world when firing any ceramics especially in the red spectrum range there could be slight variations batch to batch.
