Got offered one but just couldn’t pull the trigger on a 30k watch without a bracelet. Understood that the oysterflex is great and has a gold clasp but just couldn’t do it. Sold to the next person on the list

Sounds like you have some regret. It's a great watch.

I'm not really a big oysterflex fan. I love rubber straps, especially combined with a precious metal, but I had an oysterflex YM and it just never sat right. The oysterflex sits high off the wrist because of the fins and because it's not flexible at all, and it feels and looks bulkier than it should. I wish it had a simple, supple rubber strap like my ceramic case Seamaster. That strap is much more comfortable.

That said, I'll get the 42mm YM if it's ever released in everose. But I'll get it despite the oysterflex, not because of it.

I guess you could go full PM Daytona for close to 40K. The 116519 is priced appropriately, IMO.

I'm with OP, I love 116519, especially the dial. If Rolex offered that watch in full PM bracelet I would seriously consider it.

Good for you for knowing what you like and want.

FWIW, I think having been able to wear a 116506 and 116519 together, I think the 116519 really needs the black strap to give the dial the magical visual pop.

Nothing wrong with a high price watch on a strap, I happen to prefer them.

To each his own. I enjoy wearing it almost more than any other watch in my collection, but hey...that's me.

Popped into the AD and tried on a Blue SS YM. Really like the feel so hoping for the rhodium one sometime soon. That is unless something crazy happens and I get a Hulk, Pepsi or white Daytona. For now happy rotating my Seamaster and Sea Dweller

I have the 116518 on my shortlist. I tried on the wg Daytona on OF and felt good to me. To each his own!

Just bought this watch ... been looking at it a while, it's the holidays and tax in DC is only 6% compared to 7.75% in CA, which saved me $504 so I pulled the trigger.

AD didn't have the correct OF bracelet size (came with F and D), so I have to either wait on the AD or go to RSC Beverly Hills to replace the D with either an F or G for my 7.5" wrist. Then I'll be up and running! Can't wait.

It’s a great watch for sure but I had the same reservations. At ~22 it makes sense but at 30 I could have a full bracelet.

I'm rocking the 116519LN as I type this. Super comfortable watch and it's quite low key since it doesn't have shiny PCLs. My clasp is already scratched to hell but the OF strap has held up quite well. I hate to think how scuffed up the PCLs would be if it was on a bracelet.

Hope you get the watch you want soon.

I have agree. It's a great piece and I'm sure the oysterflex is the best rubber band out there but I'd have to take a bigger bite for a bracelet version on any model.
