ADs in Northern England?
Hi, I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. I'm looking for some advice on one or more ADs that it's worth me visiting, if only to put my name down. I've been collecting watches for some time - mainly vintage English watches - but only bought my first rolex about 18 months ago - an OP from the mid-80's. I live in Leeds and went to Preston's in the city centre around last August. The assistant I spoke to was pretty good and we had a pleasant conversation about watches. I told him that I was specifically after a watch with GMT complication and he took my name down for a polar explorer 2, telling me it could be 12-18 months, before giving me catalogue, his card and telling me to pop in every few months. I recently went back to see them at their newly opened boutique. The assistant I'd spoken to wasn't there and I was made to feel unwelcome and told that it would be 2 years or more. I know this experience is far from unique (!), but I'm kind of hoping someone has some advice on where it's worth going. I don't mind waiting for a watch, but would like to be treated with a little respect - or is that too much to ask in this crazy rolex world?
