Anybody own sd43 and dssd at same time? One finally had to go...
Wondering if anyone else has gone through this cycle. I finally determined for me the 43 blurred the line between my 40mm watches and the dssd. Don't get me wrong the 43 is an awesome watch and I can see why it's the perfect one for some. I've decided I like it to really feel different when I take off a 5 digit or even 6 digit gmt and put the big one on. I guess in a perfect world it would be nice to keep them all... Anyway, new year, moving on...

I still have both but have thought of letting one go, not sure which but probably the DSSD. Neither is getting much wrist time to be honest.

I have a sub and DSSD.
Was thinking to add a SD43 to complete diver collection. This post makes me think twice

You know, it just depends on what you like, if you like to really feel like you are wearing something different when you switch. I have kind become to embrace the feeling of it really being different on the wrist. Yes these are certainly first world problems for sure....

I have both and probably won’t let either go, unless they go to my children.

I owned both at the same time Brian, for about a year or so.
I couldn’t justify having 3 divers (also have a 6 digit Submariner) so I decided one had to go.... I thought long and hard and in the end I let the Dblue go. Don’t get me wrong, great watch, nothing quite like it actually, but I always struggled with the height of the darn thing. To me the SD 43 is just more wearable. No wrong answer tho, and I admit to wanting to add the Dblue back again some days |

Had the JC Deepsea first. Then I got the SD43 a year or so after. Now I have both them and I kept saying to myself, Why. So the 43 went on the chopping block. Never looked back.

I had both for a bit, loved the idea but having them side by side the SD43 felt redundant. I kept the Deepsea, I prefer the look and it wears more comfortably for me. The clasp on the Deepsea is definitely superior.

I had both, but after a couple months of owning the SD43, I fell out of love w/the DSSD. I tried hard but it was just to clumsy in comparison.
After 3 years of ownership I sold the DSSD, and have not missed it. |

Yep.... SD43, JC DSSD, and SD4k. Love and wear them all, not all at the same time though.

I had the Deep Sea Blue for about three years. Decided to sell it to fund another project, however my SD43 is a keeper. My favorite watch. The Deep Sea is an awesome piece, I plan on getting another one down the road (126660 Deep Blue) for the updated bracelet and movement. But if I had to choose just one, the SD43 is perfect imo. Not top heavy, just the perfect fit.

My favorite and daily is the 126660 JC DSSD D-Blue. My SD43 gets very little wear and is kind of a useless watch. My GMT 40MM CHNR feels too small. The DSSD has a better bracelet and clasp. A far superior watch than the others. Stick with the DSSD. |

I have both, 126660 JC DSSD D-Blue is my daily wearer, its simply a stunning watch.
I have two SD43s and to be honest I have only worn one the first time this week as my 126660 has had to be returned to Rolex under warranty. I can confirm you don't appreciate what you have until its gone. SD43 is a pretty little watch, and I do like it, a lot, just not as much. |

My collection is diver heavy and SDs are my fav. Have a bluesy, neo-vintage 16600 with cream patina, SD43 and JC DS. Out of the SD43 and DS the DS gets more wrist time. I find the dial more interesting and feel it's weight adds something special to it. I do appreciate the great proportions of the SD43 but other than the red line it looks rather dull to me. I have been enjoying the 16600 lately as when I switch to the SD43 the dial seems bloated but never found that when wearing the DS.

I’ve heard multiple people state they find the DSSD (revised) much more comfortable than the SD43, they just dislike the ring text. It’s surprising because off the wrist it’s a tank but on the wrist it actually wears quite well.

This confused me at first as I agree about it looking like a tank but being wearable and I couldn't understand why. I read somewhere on this forum that once on the wrist, the perspective of the wearer is a birds eye view which eradicates the thickness from the side which makes sense.

I also had them both and I chose the SD43 as I struggled with loving the DSSD because of its thickness. It was too thick, even though the rest of the dimensions made it the perfect sporty divers watch, and I owned it for three years. The minute the SD43 came out, the DSSD was sold. I love the SD43.

I have the SD43, DSSD and D-Blue and they all get time on my wrist as well as my 5 and 6 digit Subs.

I have always had a version of a Rolex Diver in the collection for the most part. I have owned them all and many several times before. I currently own the SD43, DSSD JC and the Hulk. No issues with any of them as the size, colors and wear are different on each one. I am diver heavy across my collection and I don't care. It is what I like and what I want, so there we go.

I have both but the sd43 is two tone so they are dramatically different watches.
