Rolex Tools
As some may or may not know, I am a watchmaker (not just a clever user name )
As well as watches, I also enjoy collecting old watchmakers tools. I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has a similar collection. Any pictures of genuine Rolex tools, specifically older ones? I have almost a full workshop of modern Rolex equipment, as well as some of the older case openers. Also, Rolex or not. What equipment do the any of the non watchmakers have? Loupes, screwdrivers, case openers and water testers etc? Im just interested in seeing the quality if equipment non professionals have for their 'hobby use'. |

I have:
- Set of French made watchmakers screwdrivers 0.6mm-3.0mm. 1.6mm is perfect for Rolex bracelets - Pair of oversized tweezers - not much good - Nylon Pin pusher (used for my Omega bracelet) - Bergeon 6767-f strap/bracelet removal tool - Bergeon 6825-PF bracelet pliers - Scratch brush and some Bergeon abrasive bars for the Rolex finish - Case opener (the rubber ball kind) That's about it.

I would also love to see a professional set of tools.
Watchmaker, would you be able to post your 'collection'? Thanks in advance. |

My hobby tools consist of:
1) Bergeon 6111 spring bar tool (double-end tips: big fork, tiny fork, and pin pusher) 2) Another generic spring bar tool (slightly bigger fork than the 6111's small fork; also has pin pusher). 3) A few mini screw driver sets (0.6mm - 1.8mm). 4) A caliper (measures 1/100th inch increments) 5) Flex shaft. 6) Two Dremels (400-XPR corded, and the Stylus cordless). 7) Flex shaft/Dremel bits: a) Grinding stones8) Various 4" buff wheels. 9) Home-made ring buff wheel (for polishing the inside of a ring). 10) Buffing/polishing compounds (emery, tripoli, fine-stainless, chromium oxide, aluminum oxide, calcite aluminate, red rouge, plastic synthetic, and more! As with the wheels... you name it, I got it. ) 11) 4/0 grit sanding sticks. 12) Various sandpaper grades: 220, 320, 600, 1200, 1600, 2000, 4/0. 13) Variety of small pliers, tweezers, ratchets, etc. -Greg |
