Love my Datejust but I’m starting to second guess going for the black dial instead of the blue...ah!! What should I do

When in doubt always go blue. Talk to dealer. Best of luck. And since blue is very popular now, if you trade up or sell you will get more interest in a blue dial. IMO.

Take it back to the AD and ask them to get the dial swapped.
I did it last year (DJ41), from rhodium to blue, cost 410 € if I remember correctly. This is probably the most cost effective route

I’m new to Rolex ownership do ADs do swaps? I did some research and some posts I’ve seen say they do it and some say they don’t do it in America? Also is it true if they do it they’re going to require you to be charged for a service in addition to the swap?

AsK them, I’m not in the US but in my country of residence it was no problem whatsoever. The AD has a qualified watchmaker, he ordered the dial from RSC, as easy as that. Even got the original rhodium dial back. The whole process took about 3 weeks

Blue looks very dark in most lighting situations. I like mine but it's not so different in reality. It's not worth losing sales tax and a thousand dollars trade over.

Second guessing? Thats not uncommon. I'd give it a chance. I dont own either (mines slate) but I always loved a black dial DJ, It's stunning and a real GADA piece.

My wife has a blue DJ41 and I think it looks great. Try it for a week or two before doing anything.

I do too. I had the dark blue dial with sticks for one week and I couldn’t stand it. I like the rhodium, silver, black, white and I have now the light blue dial with Romans. The only one I don’t like is the dark blue with sticks and that’s the most popular. Lol

OP just think on it. Go try on the blue. It’s really sporty almost like a submariner feels. If that’s what you want it for than blue is great but if you plan on wearing it with suits or dress I just don’t like it that way. I know others do but I don’t. The cool part is these are not difficult to get so think on it and then bust a move. Good luck.

How long ago did you buy it?

You can try to work with whoever sold it to you, but they refuse, you can resell it, but be prepared to take a loss.

Dial swap, otherwise black dial DJ is one heck of a daily wear watch. Seems we always want more. I wish I had a DJ blue dial, black dial, white dial and TT diamond dial.Unfortunately I can have only one.

I'm surprised they let you do that at RSC Toronto. But if they do let you do that definitely that's an easy fix and by the way I have the Blue smooth stainless steel oyster bracelet although officially I will be wearing it after I get married its a wedding gift from my wife. I love the watch

As long as the dial is native to the reference it's ok with RSC
