Stupid 16613 question...

If you have a pre-sel and pre-gold through clasp, can those parts be fitted later?

In other words, can a pre-sel watch head accept the sel as a drop-in? And can you change just the end link, or do you have to change the whole bracelet?

Are the stainless vs two tone clasps interchangeable?

Depends.

Clasps are fully interchangeable, sourcing is usually the issue.

SEL's only fit on cases that have been machined to accept the SEL link. The machined SEL locating ledge was started in early 90's, depending on the model.

What does that ledge look like? The watch head I'm considering was produced in 91 by serial number, sold in 93 based on warranty paperwork, so likely sat in inventory for around 18 months. Definitely was sold with hollow ELs.

Look on the back side, between the lugs. The machined SEL ledge is obvious if it is there.
