Tudor BB GMT

I’ve been kicking around the idea of a GMT. Would love a Rolex, but wouldn’t we all. I came across the Tudor GMT a couple months back and it’s a really nice watch. Stopped by my AD today (not where I bought my Sub) to see if they had any in stock. They didn’t but she said they have a few in order and she would put me down as interested once they come in. I doubt it’s as silly a list as SS Rolex, my guess is that she’ll call as soon as one comes in.

She did acknowledge I was currently on their list for a Sub. I mentioned I was able to find one elsewhere at another AD. I let her know I understand the shortage, but that I would preferred to do business locally. My thoughts are this watch would help build some credibility with the AD. They also now know I own another Rolex. Maybe, just maybe one day I could get a GMT. By that time, maybe I’ll be in love with the Tudor and can pass the Rolex GMT along to someone in here :D

Who here has the Tudor GMT? What’s your take?

The ones coming in have the NATO band which I really like.

I passed on the Rolex GMT for it

I had never seen it in the metal nor was interested to do so until the day Rolex Boutique called me to go pick up the BLRO. Saw the watch “Siena Leather Strap” put it on my wrist and couldn’t take it off. The size and the style was what I exactly wanted from a gmt so I wished the BLRO a happy owner and asked the boutique manger “who was still in disbelief mode :-)” to order the SD43 for me.
One year now on my wrist and I still struggle to take my eyes off it.
By the way, the watch loves nato straps for a change. I got like 6 already for, it makes fantastic duet with anything I throw on it.

I didn’t mean to hijack your thread earlier.

To answer your question, I’m interested in the BB GMT but not the Rolex GMT. I couldn’t figure out why I liked the BB GMT more but I think I now understand why.

For me, the Rolex GMT bezel color is too bright and the numbers are too big. I find that the aluminum bezel on the BB GMT with the muted blue and red of and the smaller numbers pairs well with matte black dial and retro style case. I just think the BB GMT is a very well executed watch.

Tudor BB GMT

Hey Todd. I know you like the NATO version. But my advice is to get it on the bracelet and order the NATO after. The bracelet is significantly more than the NATO

Reminder to research about the date wheel issue, see if it’s still prevalent.

It’s an awesome watch, but be sure to either get it on bracelet, or negotiate a hefty discount if your plan is to eventually flip it.

Obviously choices like these from Tudor are getting stronger. Dan, those cuff links are pure class!

Thanks for the replies!

Love the watch Dan - links are a nice addition!

Good to know about the bracelet. I think MSRP between the (2) is ~$250-300.

Does anyone have a non-promo photo of the NATO strap?

I just saw a HODINKEE video on the quality of the Tudor NATO and wanted to see a real photo of the GMT on NATO. When I spoke to an AD, they suggested I order the BB GMT on NATO and then order the bracelet afterwards if I wanted to get the watch sooner. Does anyone know what the cost is to order the bracelet or NATO separately?

Thanks!

If the bracelet is what you want as the main configuration I suggest ordering the watch on bracelet first then add the fabric or Siena.
I have all 3. The Bracelet I never use. The Siena always during wintertimes and nato during summer mostly. Now, for the fabric, I won't bother getting it from Tudor because the ones I found elsewhere are way cooler and some are of the same exact weave quality. Bellow images show 2 fabric straps, one from Tudor "Left" the other from Crown&Buckle https://www.crownandbuckle.com/chevr...ian-syrah.html
Second image shows the Nato strap.
PS: Attention not to confuse nato with fabric straps. Tudors makes fabric "weave" straps not nato. I prefer the nato design on Tudor as it fits better the size and thickness of the case.

Thanks! The Tudor strap looks more muted than the C&B. I guess that’s the difference between fabric and nylon. I actually prefer the bracelet but that video on how the strap was made got me very interested in getting that option.

Yes, made in France. Saw the video, interesting company.
The BB GMT looks good on all sort of straps really, it adds to its vintage look. That’s why mine is always on either natos or Siena.

I have the bracelet and Tudor straps. No date change issue with mine. IIRC the strap was about $150. The endlinks were separate.

Thanks! How do you like the strap? Would you recommend ordering with bracelet then strap or the opposite?

I have a Tudor GMT and I love it. I bought it 2nd hand from a coworker who had purchased it with the Nato, but also bought the leather strap, and an OEM black bay bracelet without rivets.

I'm a bracelet guy so I wear it mainly in that configuration, but I change it to the leather from time to time to switch it up. Pics below:

I own the BB GMT and it maybe my favorite Tudor. I have never had an issue with the watch and prefer it to the Rolex alternative even leaving price out of it.

Totally love mine and it is the most accurate watch I own - more so than my Omega and Rolexes.
