Rebirth of the Air King
My wife's airking was very nice but had a major problem : in it's previous "history" someone try to adapt a wrong back to the original case, resulting a thread problem and a non waterproof case : what a pitty for an oyster
We finially decide to visit the Rolex store Paris, having in mind that this problem might cost a fortune :( ... we received a quote for a complete new case, caseback, crystal and crown for ... 300 euros ! no hesitation we go for this option, thinking of a very long wait ... Less than 2 weeks after giving the watch to the Rolex store we had a call : watch is ready : we discover the superb job done : a NOS case (with serial numbers and reference) A real rebirth for the Air King, and now waterproof : well done Rolex ! |

I'm glad for you that Rolex was able to and had a remedy for your situation. The watch looks great and enjoyed your PICS!!!

Beautiful watch. 300 euros is not a bad price for such a result!

Amazing! A "brand new" Air-King 5500.
Perhaps they were equally happy being able to sell a replacement case they've been sitting on for a long time. I do not know, and it is not important since the result and cost is truly great! Congrats! Best, A |
