How does this watch look in person?

My local dealers don't have one in stock but could order one.

It's definitely "different," and I dig the mash up of Roman and Arabic numerals, but I would really like to see one first.

Any of you WIS have one, love it, hate it?

And can you get one for less than MSRP?

I tried it on at one of the boutiques here in HK about 2 weeks ago. It looks great "live". (pictures really doesn't do it justice). Sits well on my 6.9-ish sized, flat, wrist. I think they've managed well to get the right look when it comes to "copying" a vintage Radiomir. Also, the “aged patina effect” (as they call it), really do look fantastic. I wasn't to sure about this, having just looked at the pictures. But I was pleasantly surprised, and think it fits very well with the "aged" dial.

I really like this model.

Having said that, I wouldn't order it "blind". Personally I would definitely want to try it on before buying. Did they have any other Radiomir 47mm model with wire lugs? At least so you can get a sense of the size/feeling on the wrist.

The California dial has a great history, one I've always been drawn to. It's something you don't see everyday, that's for sure. And in the current market, with all its steel sport madness, I think this is a good thing. :)

On a model like this I wouldn't expect much (or any) discount. The boutique here said they would probably be able to offer a small one, plus a strap or two. But that has a lot to do with the current market situation here in HK which has been way off for the last +6 months. (plus that I have a history with them). But in general, I wouldn't expect one on this model.

Cheers,
Joe

I figured they won't offer a discount, but at least it's good knowing that beforehand so I don't pressure the salesguy.

I'm going to see if they can get one in the store that I can try on without an obligation to buy. I've bought stuff from one of the local dealers before and maybe they'll let me do it.

Is this an AD or boutique? I'm asking because so far I haven't been able to figure out if this (together with the 992) is a "boutique only", or not.

Cheers,
Joe

931 can be bought online or in stores. 424 is boutique.

No, 424 can be bought at an AD = not boutique exclusive (I tried it on at my local AD a couple of weeks ago). Green Radiomirs(995 etc), are good examples of current Boutique only models.

So just to confirm. Your dealer is a AD = and he said he could order the 931? Thanks.

Cheers,
Joe

Yeah. And at least in the US I can also order it online.

Cool. Thanks. By online, I guess you mean the Panerai site? (Or any other website) Asking because a search only came back with the Panerai site.

Cheers,
Joe

I got mine from a boutique in December and was told AD's will get it after three months. Ten times nicer in person with a golden brown dial (not yellow).

Thanks for sharing this info. Much appreciated. Hopefully it’s the same worldwide.

And I couldn’t agree more regarding this model looking amazing in person. If I had not visit my regular AD and “spontaneously” bought a 753, I would probably had walked out from the Boutique (which I visited on my way home), wearing this one. But two in one day might be overdoing things...

Big congrats on your beautiful timepiece.

Cheers,
Joe

One important thing I would like the note here is the watch looks very different than what is in the press photos. If you're expecting this to look like the 687 dial, it's not the same dial finish. It's much shinier and metallic looking.
