1965 GMT question

This has been up for a while I guess. I don't know a lot about these but I've been looking at GMT's. Dial is bad I guess. What else am I missing?

I am definitely no expert but these things pop out at me. Badly done fake dial would be #1. The hands look matched but not in great condition with the lume cracking. The case is polished. I am not sure if the rotor wheel is correct or just a more recent replacement, color looks different that the rest of the guts. There is no bracelet, which for a period correct rivet bracelet, would cost a pretty penny (3.5K) but I suppose the price reflects that. Insert looks really good! It really depends on what you are looking for but if this is an investment of sorts then pass. Just a service for this would be at least 1K. Wait for the experts, I don't even have a Pepsi GMT!

Wow just the dial itself appears to be total crap. Very bad.

I admit it needs help. I just don't know much about the movement possibilities and I certainly didn't know a bracelet (period correct) would set me back that much. I'll keep looking! Thanks for the info!

Check out this thread in the vintage section, it's a sticky at the top of the page, for those wanting a full course on the peculiarities of buying vintage. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=353899. Also, check out this site https://gmtmaster1675.com/ they are both excellent references for your new hobby. Good luck!

This is on Fleabay now (Rivet bracelet) 3.5K, https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-RIVET...sAAOSwRqxd4DaW

Very badly done redial, and that’s just at a quick glance. Avoid
