Flip 126710 BLNR for Daytona 116500 ?

It depends how much you have to add to the deal. What is the condition of the 116500? How many years of warranty left, etc. we need more info.

Brand new December 2019 with sticker. I'll have to add too much that's the problem

Nope...I can’t quickly read the Time on the Daytona so that’s a deal breaker for me.

Don’t understand why the time has to be read so quickly...

Normally when looking at the “time of day” you are reading hours and minutes....so even if it takes another second or two to see the time...no big deal

That’s what watches are for.

For me, I like to be able to quickly glance at my watch and be able to tell the time...dial legibility is important. Doesn’t mean it has to be for you.

I can’t help but laugh at how some people feel the need to insult someone on TRF over what their opinion is.

Maybe the next time you could focus that energy on contributing to the OPs question.

Sorry sir, it was not meant as an insult. Just a tongue in cheek comment. Many say legibility is an issue with Daytonas but that has not been my experience at all

No. 126710 is a great watch.

I'm all for trading up, If you really want to trade it, then trade "higher-up" like a PM pepsi, or a Daydate.

My take... I have the original 116710BLNR and a White DaytonaC... If I had to choose irregardless of price it would hands down be the BLNR. I like them both, but the BLNR is more functional to me as I travel constantly and am on multiple teams with Engineers across the world so the multiple timezones help whether I'm home or traveling.

I would not as I think the BLNR is one of my favorite! Now, I do have both ceramic Daytonas but I would trade something different other than the BLNR.

Absolutely love my BLNR I wouldn't trade it for the Daytona even if it was a trade without paying more.

Don't pay the cash to get the Daytona just cause it is a Daytona. It feels like you're more into the batgirl, on price adjusted basis.

No way would I make that trade, I have the BLNR-older oyster version and the white Daytona C and much prefer the BLNR. Easier to read the time, love the GMT function and date.

Plus the ceramic blue/black is a killer combination in my opinion.

I would keep my BLNR. I would wear it and enjoy it for the 6 years it takes the AD to call me on my Daytona C Panda... also use the time to save my money to pay for the Daytona when I get the infamous "Call"... but that is just me.

Depends on how much money I’d have to add, but yes. I’d do that deal if it was a reasonable cash delta. There is absolutely nothing special about the BLNR, or the Pepsi, or the Hulk.....The Daytona is a special watch - and has been for many years.

As far as the difficulty to tell time with it...I’ve never understood that angle. Maybe a visit to the eye dr is in order. To be perfectly honest, do we really ever not know what time it is? Cmon. It wears so small....is another one. People don’t wear luxury watches JUST to tell the time.

A great friend of my fathers - years ago (my father is a big Daytona collector (vintage mostly) told me - you don’t wear a Daytona to tell the time, you wear a Daytona to SHOW the time. Kinda douchey, pretty true.

Look, to each their own. You’ll get the multitude of answers here - along with many a Daytona “nay-sayer”. Most people who aren’t fans of the Daytona - just can’t get one - so they like bashing it.

Make the decision you like the best and are comfortable with.

Las paragraph so true.Because people can’t get the Daytona they chose to hate.If they had it would be the best watch, typical human nature.

Great advice and comments. Plus a 16710 GMT Coke is my daily watch.

White or black dial, just out of curiosity?

Either way I'd say no, at least not at this time. The Daytona grey market prices are insane right now. You said it yourself...you'd have to add too much. You say "too much" because you know deep down that it's not worth the current asking price.

I've debated this myself quite a few times, and have always come to the same conclusion.
