Trying to get some info on my watch

Hey guys my last post got deleted, I must have posted something wrong, so I am going to try again. Admin sorry for my earlier post. I apologize if i did something or said something wrong in my previous post, that was my first thread my apologies. I was just trying to get some info on the Kermit Submariner that I have. Maintenance, things to look for, any info will help me. I appreciate it. It seems like there are different variations or year models. Or is there a good way to get a value on it etc. It was given to me over 10 years ago and i haven't worn it much, partially due to the fact I thought it was fake until I had it looked at a few years back. Thanks guys I appreciate it.

found the engravings on the watch face too I don't exactly know what they mean
16610-t and Y965687

I hope this post better fits the guidelines, again my apologies for the first post

To get a value for it, maybe take it to an AD or grey dealer and see what they say

Or campare it to similar pieces for sale online

Things to look out for...

Don’t get it wet while the crown is unscrewed

Better yet, make sure the crown is always screwed down when you are not setting the time or date or winding the watch

For maintenance, wear it first

If it keeps good time, i would keep using it until it no longer does

Welcome to the forum!

This is actually a really nice place

You’ll learn a lot on here

Well in a nut shell I always wondered if it was real being it was given to me as a gift. Brought it to high end jeweler and Rolex dealer here in town, and they told me yes this is a real Rolex. So at that point I started wearing to Church and special occasions. They took the band off and gave me the #'s stamped on the watch face.

You could take it back and get it appraised for value. Also have them pressure test the watch to check for water resistance. Other than that, enjoy your watch. I would wear it for more than just church and special occasions.

The guy at the Jeweler was trying to buy it from me, I considered it. But I figured they would take advantage of me since I don't know much about the watch and I left with it, LOL

I would find your watch highly questionable.

A Y serial should be a Mark1 dial and flat four bezel. The Y serial were the first Kermits released.

You may have a regular sub with a green bezel....

Y serials have been documented with pointed four inserts and Mark II dials.
It’s a misnomer that all early LVs are flat four and Mark I.

I’ve not seen one yet....

Very few Kermit Y serials were made before the serial changed to F.

The OP’s dial is not a MarkII dial either.

Dial is fake as well as the whole watch. BTW, any Rolex AD that claims that watch to be genuine has no business being a Rolex AD. They need to learn the difference between real and fake or close up shop!

They are out there, an example from Michael Morgan sold a few years ago for example, and is a very early Y that was not Mark I, but Mark II - his did have flat four insert however. I have seen them with pointed four too, but I don't think they are very common.
This was a documented one owner watch.

F serials have also been documented with pointed and flat fours and Mark I, II as you may know.

It's pretty clear OPs watch isn't authentic.....
It has an oval O and three ticks at 6 o'clock. It seems like a combination of Mark I or II with the O and Mark IV configuration at 6 o'clock IMO.

How many Y or early F serials MK1 have Swiss Made across three ticks?

EDIT: Noticed you addressed this later

This is a maxi dial so this looks like the Rolex 50th Anniversary Submariner 16610V Kermit from the 2006 or 2007
For the authentication i'm not an expert if is a fake or not

The watch is indeed confirmed fake. The serial # itself proves it.

Maybe I didn't explain that right, the serial and model #'s are behind the watch band where it connects. Band had to be removed in order to see them

If you google that serial number a fake one comes up. And if you see the picture I’m talking about it doesn’t remotely look like a real Rolex serial engraving.

It’s 2020. Those r the worst pictures I’ve ever seen.

It’s fake unless you post better pics.

Hopefully the mods remove this thread as well.

Lol
