How did you make your purchase - Cash, Credit or Finance?
When purchasing your time piece of choice, how did you make your purchase? Did you pay cash, use your credit card or finance the watch of your dreams?
Obviously each purchase method has its up's and downs, just curious to see how the community is making their purchases. -Frankie |

I use the CC to pay for it so I can get the miles then pay the CC off 100% when I get the bill. I never finance a luxury item (excluding a vehicle), if I can't afford to pay it off when I get the bill, I do not buy it.

Exactly the way I do it. My purchases have bought a lot of upgrades on long haul flights.

if you happen to have 0% financing and has enough money in the bank, why not. as most people have said, don't buy what you can't afford. Save up, you'll get there.

My exact sentiments. Get the reward points and pay off. Don't buy what I can't afford.

My 16600 back in 1998, CC which was settled in full at the end of the month, and earned the usual bonus points and airmiles.
My recent 116660, 50% CC [for airmiles again etc etc] with full settlement when due and the rest 0%, same as Jen here. |

Have bought a lots of them so many different ways.
Mostly via a credit card for purchase protection and cash back, but paid in full when due. I have also taken the only discount I could get on some hot models and that was interest free financing. I always figure the NPV of the payments, but most of the time I just get tired of making the payments after a few months and just pay the darn thing off. I guess I don't like the monthly reminder of what it cost me either. |
