DJ 41 Jubilee vs Oyster
So I am looking into possibly getting a DJ 41 with a smooth bezel. I am debating between getting a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. For those who have handled both, which one do you prefer? Also I heard that the jubilee bracelet makes the watch feel alittle smaller, or at least tapers it more. Is there any truth to this?

The oyster is a much better look on the 41mm.. In my opinion it just suits the size much better.
I would only use a Jubilee on a 36mm |

I think I might agree if it was a true 41mm but its closer to 39mm so a Jubilee works fine, esp with a smooth bezel, need either fluted or jubilee on a DJ imho.

I went for the Oyster on a RG two tone, I just wanted to be a little less loud. If I was going steel I would probably pick the jubilee. I've tried both and you can't go wrong.

I prefer the jubilee on the DJ. That's what I have on my DJ41 blue with fluted bezel. I don't know that the jubilee makes the DJ wear smaller than with the oyster but it certainly makes it feel lighter.

I got the oyster on my DJ41. Then bought a jubilee bracelet. Two completely diff looks!
If you want to go modern/sporty, Then Oyster. The jubilee is a little more dressy.....Unless it's on a GMT, |

Agree.. I'm a casual dresser so I went with the oyster. Jubilee like you stated is more dressy. IMO.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe they both have the same taper, same clasp/lugs etc. Maybe a tad lighter... ADs will advise smooth w/ oyster or fluted w/ jubilee. Of course there's no rules to mix and match. I went smooth w/oyster, I had a jubilee once but prefer the look and feel of the S/O. It dresses well but dresses down better with a sporty flair to it. Happy Choosing!

I tried the DJ41 on both oyster and jubilee last week. There's a big difference in how the bracelets make the watch wear, at least on my ~6.75 inch wrist.
The biggest reason for this is that the fixed endlink for the oyster bracelet has a center link that is rigid and fixed in place and that extends a few millimeters beyond the end of the lugs. This effectively means that the watch case feels taller overall from lug-to-lug, maybe by 4 mm or so, on the oyster bracelet. By contrast, the end links for the jubilee do not have that protruding center link. The jubilee is flexible and can drape down more or less from the point where the lugs end. On top of this, I think the jubilee is a little thinner and lighter, and it's more flexible. For my size wrist, the DJ41 seemed much more wearable on jubilee, though I could also do the oyster if needed. |

Are your wrists hairy?
Jubilee will be pulling on your wrist hair. With a smooth bezel, the oyster bracelet is pretty sporty and elegant at the same time. A good friend of mine has that combo with the dark rhodium dial and is just beautiful. Jubilee, gives the watch a bit more of a dressy look, and a little more 'mature' look. It is extremely comfortable from a wrap around your wrist point of view, but at the same time it will pull on your hair if you have any. I have found that overall, I am more of an oyster fan than jubilee fan.

Have had both and prefer the Jubilee for the SS Dj41 w/fluted bezel. Classic look. Here are two shots...same watch, different bands.

The jubilee is making a big comeback style wise. Practically, the jubilee hides scratches on the center links a little better. Just as the oyster band couples well with the tool watches, the jubilee pairs well with the Datejust.

I think it's definitely a personal choice as many people have expressed quite different opinions. I have my 36mm DJ on a Jubilee with a fluted bezel and I absolutely love it.
However I don't mind a smooth bezel or oyster bracelet, I just wouldn't choose it for my DJ. Anyway you go, I think it's important to make sure that what you choose brings you joy! |

Here’s my take on what combo looks the best:
Jubilee bracelet with fluted bezel Oyster bracelet with smooth bezel Love both the jubilee and oyster bracelets. The jubilee does feel a bit smaller on the wrist. |

I think the opposite. Jubilee + fluted is too “blingy” for me. Smooth & Jubilee, Fluted & Oyster.

Totally agree, I got a smooth with jubilee recently and the jubilee just pops with the smooth bezel a great balance. Fluted with jubilee to me is like wearing an orange t shirt with red chinos, if you get my meaning. And smooth with oyster is like wearing black t shirt with black t jeans. And to compete the analogy my jubilee with smooth is like wearing a navy t shirt with olive green chinos, a modern and classy look.

The smooth bezel DJ looks incomplete to me. But if you must, I’d go oyster with the smooth and jub with the flute.

I chose smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet. I wanted this to be my daily wearer and dress it up or down. Mine's the DJ 36 Siler stick dial. It's sublime. Model is in my avatar

I got a DJ41 blue smooth Jubilee. I feel like fluted goes really well with Oyster and smooth goes better with Jubilee. Smooth+Oyster looks too sporty. Fluted+Jubilee looks too dressy. Smooth+Jubilee or Fluted+Oyster look balanced and can be dressed up or down more.
