Incoming... Again! When it rains it pours...

Wow, just got my wife the 116509 this week and yesterday received another 2 calls in 1 day!

The first was for a Blue DJ41 which I passed up and the second was for an SD43.

I went to the AD to see the SD43 but it was too close to my JC and I promised myself not to buy a dive watch anymore because I have 3 and I never dive...

So I passed on the SD43 and asked if any Exp II was available... et voila! A 42mm Exp II black dial!

This was a good week for my collection, not so good for the wallet!

The crown is perfectly aligned!

Surprised? You bought another watch that is not hard to get, for your wife.
So you are a customer, or should I say you were “bundled”?

No discount, lucky I could get it. Some ADs haven’t even seen this one before.

Did you have to order or it was at the AD on the display case?

Congratulations. A very nice watch, often overlooked. I prefer the Polar but if the 42mm wears well on you, you can't go wrong with either dial.

My 114060's crown lines up perfectly too. But I have observed this is not always the case with new Rolex watches. Does it seem hit or miss to everybody?

There was a thread about it last year, apparently only full gold and platinum models are aligned.

SS models it’s hit and miss.

My Milgauss lines up perfectly as well, luck of the draw I guess.

This is not true. Only the sky dweller crown aligns on all of them. It has nothing to do with machining the threads a certain way, but rather the mechanism of the skyD crown that always returns to that same spot.

Are you saying my 114060 has a Sky-Dweller crown?

I have never had one line up. Strange as Rolex advertise them always perfectly lined up.

Actually they told me they call me because they know I will not simply buy whatever they offer and flip it. SD43 and Blue dial DJ41 both can make money if flipped.
