Found MY regulation position

My YM, 268622, gained time at night while off the wrist. Didn't matter what position I used until I found one quite by accident.
Last night I laid my watch dial down by accident. This morning it had not gained ANY time. Usually it would gain 1+ sec/day at night.
This has taken my YM from almost 2 sec/day gain to <1 sec/day.

This being a newbie to Rolex is fun.

I’m very lazy with mine as long as it’s within a couple minutes I couldn’t really care

I have no clue if any of my watches lose or gain time. It’s Rolex so I trust they do the job I paid them to do

Give it a year and you will hardly care. I remember those days- almost like bringing home a newborn baby as you try and figure out the care of your new treasure.

If it were me, I’d simply keep it dial up overnight.

Have to agree and why even bother for perhaps 1-2 seconds out of 86400 in a day.

I am so new to the family that I find this is a fascinating aspect of Rolex ownership.
And knowing me, I suspect within the year I won't be checking as regularly as I am now.

It's just a small part of the overall ownership experience
Enjoy

If you keep hanging around here you'll soon be rotating through so many that one could lose 10 minutes in a day and you wouldn't notice.

Good point.

However it's just a bit of fun and the knowledge gained is a useful tool to use in self regulation as desired.
A very old school concept but good

I suppose it would definately be a fruitless pursuit if one's watch was all over the place in terms of timekeeping, but for those with watches which are running in a predictable manner it's also nice to have the option of using it to good advantage whether one cares or not

My sub was gaining 1 or 2 seconds a night in the crown up position and crown down it is bang on pretty much. My watch is only a few weeks old so it might need more time to break in before I find the right position.

Man, I thought a "regulation position" was something else entirely!

My bad.
