Wait for a SS Daytona or just grab a platinum?

Hey guys, looking to purchase a Daytona, I have pretty much every other watch at this point I want, I wasn't a huge Daytona fan initially but figure why not add it to the collection. My AD says he can get a stainless one this year just doesn't know when, he has a platinum in stock would that be as nice or nicer then the SS? Looks similiar,,,cost a little more but not deal breaker

Of course Ad wants you to buy a platinum that is over 5 times the retail price of ss Daytona. $$

Ya he doesn't care, I've bought like 30 watches there, he just had the platinum in stock so figure why not, to me it's not big money,,,,,but will platinum scratch more or anything different vs ss? I suppose I can get the stainless too when he gets it

I love the platinum. I would buy It in a heart beat. It is by far better than the SS. Just very expensive. If you can afford it , then it is a no brainer.

That’s the impression that I get when the OP says platinum is a little more expensive than SS

More power to the OP!

Just grab the Platona and get the ss version within the year .

It concerns me that you think the ss and platinum versions looks similar .

Which dial is it? The baguette dial is the one to get IMO. If you're going platinum, go all the way.

I'm sure you'll get the SS in short time.

Cost a little more? That's one way of putting it.

Hey, all kidding aside, I love the platona...if you can stomach the price tag. Another option might be the an oyster flex model. More available than the steel and about half the price of the platinum.

In all honesty, if you're not crazy about the Daytona period, then I don't know if I'd sink that much money into one. Just my two cents.

Price aside, diamonds aside, the biggest difference on your wrist is going to be the weight - platona going to be much heavier so up to you if that is going to be comfortable wearing all day, all week etc. Would def try it on and walk around the store with it . Gorgeous watch.

If you can get the SS in retail, go SS

If you cant get ss in retail, get the platinum.

A 26 year old stoner from Toronto, that can spare the dough for a plat.....OK I'll take that bet.... Unless his weed stock went ballistic!

Shame he can't speak up now in defense....
