Nashville TN AD’s

In Nashville on business and checked to see if there were any ADs close by and I couldn’t believe it but there are none in this city?! Crazy.

The last AD in the state of TN lost their status @ 6mos. ago. I believe I'm right in saying there are now zero in the whole state.

I was in a Memphis AD this week. Very pleased. I picked up a new watch for myself. I travel around most of the right half of the US for business and stop by AD's when I get the chance. Never know what is waiting under the glass. Or in the safe

None. It’s sad, I would love to have one to visit and complain about empty cases.

There have been talks of a boutique coming eventually but haven’t seen anything coming to fruition. The last AD in Nashville still sells Tudor oddly enough, but Rolex pulled the plug on them selling Rolex brand directly. They do maintain a used inventory however. It’s Kings Jewelers over in the Green Hills area.

All other major cities in TN still have one but not Nashville oddly enough.

Not sure about Nashville but in Chattanooga there is a Rolex AD, Rone Regency. Great folks there!

Been meaning to stop in there next time I’m that way. Almost made it to the one in Knoxville the other day as my hotel was virtually right next to it, but had dinner instead and missed closing time by about 30 minutes. Looked like a nice place though.

It’s ridiculous there’s not one in the entire greater Nashville area. It’s a dead space on the Rolex dealer map.

You missed nothing at the Knoxville AD. The entire façade is very nice. Their Rolex area... It is very small; like 2 small display cases. You guessed it, they are typically quite empty as well. They do have new as well as used Rolex watches in store. However, the new watches are allocated to customers before they make it to the display.

Memphis has two AD's, Knoxville has one, none in Nashville according to Rolex's website. That seems unbelievable. Four Rolex AD's in Tennessee total.

Other than Chatt and Knox, surrounding Nashville you have AD's in:
Huntsville, AL
Atlanta,
Louisville, KY

Talked to the Kings jeweler owner and they said that Rolex/Tudor wanted to be the only watch they sell. He refused and they pulled Rolex. He said that Rolex is opening up its own boutique in green hills mall. I take it with a grain of salt.

I don't remember the old Jonathon's. Is it near the theater or?

Right by the theater. Basically just on the right side of the walkway if you are walking to the theater from the mall. The far side closest to Crestmoor.

I was at Green Hills today. Diamond Cellar is in progress but it looks like it's at least a couple of months away.

Good riddance. They would never deal. A sales rep there told me I was a novice because I was trying to haggle on a Navitimer and didn’t appreciate all that watch represented. I informed him it represented a 40% loss the second I walk out of the door. Last time I was there though, they still had very few Rolex, a ton of Tudor, and were ready to give up the farm if I’d take home a JLC.....

Once upon a time there was a great AD in Green Hills Mall (Carlyle’s maybe??? Began with a C) but they got the boot when the place was renovated about 10-12 years ago..... my first time in there I remember coke and Pepsi GMT’s as far as the eye could see..... ah the good ol days...

Kings is odd. They wrongly list a lot of their pre owned watches and list them about a grand higher that most people would buy them at. I do like their store though with so many cases and different brands.

The second dealer you mentioned was great. Carlyle and Company. I use to stop by there all the time. I remember them pretty well. I believe they had 2 in the Nashville area malls if I remember correctly. They were the first watch dealer I tried to look up after I moved back to try and make a purchase from. Unfortunately my search results basically said they were going out of business nationwide.

The few times I've been in there, they had watches priced above MSRP which always bugs me. I never know if that is an invitation to negotiate or not.

Couple of days ago, I engaged the folks at Diamond Cellar, soon to be Rolex AD in BNA. Looking for Tudor BB58. I know..crazy, but thought during covid they might make a cash sale. GM from another Diamond Cellar called to discuss, asked casually if I was ever interested in Pateks. I'm not. Classic shake down for a bundled sale. Felt dirty n cheap. Called back the next day to let me know there were no BB58s. Evidently DC is finishing the build out of their Nashville Rolex boutique for empty cases + precious metals and cellinis.

Hmmm; never experienced anything like this with DC, and have known and done business with them for over a decade.

Must be an outlier. The Johnsons are a stand up family.

He was perfectly professional and courteous but it still fel like a shakedown or at best thinly guided assessment of my future spend potential. I’ve pretty much given up hope for a sports or steel dj41 new at MSRP.
