Rolex Daytona 6239 - buying advice appreciated

Hello VRF!

I have this 6239 Daytona in my sight.

Its a 6239 1,6mill series from 1967.

Not original end links as you can see and service hands.
Unknown service history buy seller tells me its running fine.

I post this post to you guys in order to get a second opinion. I don't have enough knowledge here unfortunatley.

Should I pull the trigger on 35K USD or pass on this watch?

Please let me know you thoughts :)

Best,
Sebastian

I’m not certain about that 300 count bezel being original in 1967 models. I’m more accustomed to seeing the 200 count.

The 300 count was the first one after Bakelite I believe. Here’s what a 1967-68 model would look like.

The price is also low due to incompleteness - does the rivet bracelet clasp have codes that agree with the 1967 s/n period?

You might want to arrange an experienced agent to action your behalf. It’s easy to miss something that makes you ill later.

Not according to the ones for sale elsewhere. For example, a 1.6mill 6239 on Chrono24...

I see read the comments of people and I get shocked
I thing that they see that the watch is real and that the engravings are not right
So this guys wrong with saying that the are
Original dial and bracelet too
It may be that the dial is from 68 and bracelet from 65
I see this watches with stainless engraving and without
The only factor is the Preise but same SAME watche is in Germany and UK by popular dealer for 60-70 K
This watch is real and price is very good
Even without certificate
Best regards

Michael M is right. If you feel like getting scammed it is sold through a private listing in Norway. I can give you the url through PM.

Here are two hard facts:

1. One of the most respected and knowledgeable vintage guys on this forum (Michael M) has opined it appears to be fake.
2. Someone who appears to have joined the forum only in response to the watch being questioned has posted several times all but urging you to buy it and assuring you that the watch is similar to others being sold for twice the price, and he is itching to buy it himself.

There are several problems with the authenticity of this watch, but I'll just take one small, but important, detail.

Compare the engravings here, with the movement in the OP's watch on the left, and a confirmed authentic 722 movement on the right.

Do those look the same? You be the judge.
