Pull the trigger on this long E 1675?
Hi Guys,
The hunt continues and one more time I need your expertise :) This is a 1675 GMT "long E" dial. Serviced from Rolex AD in 2017. Price is 15k USD. More info than that I don't have. Go for it or not? I appreciate all your inputs! Best regards, Seb |

The first pic doesn't match the rest. The price seems low for a Mk1 and I would want to understand why to evaluate if I'm ok with the reasons, because $15k is still real money.
Questions I would want answered to evaluate what I would be buying include: what was included in the 2017 service, what is the case serial to be sure it matches a Mk1 dial, what is the clasp code on bracelet and number of links, how do the hands and dial react to UV light, which insert of the two is with the watch? In addition, I would want to see pics of each side uncropped, angle shot of each lug, caseback, inside case, movement and the lug sides without the bracelet attached. After getting that information and sharing, we can give you a more informed response. |

Yes, please clarify if we are looking at the same watch, as one pic has a more faded insert.

A redback is the correct insert for a Mk1, usually a fatter font. In addition to the lug pics, what has seller shared about functions performed by Rolex during service?

Ask seller for a pic if you haven't already, of the service receipt and confirmed work performed. I can tell it's at least been polished (not over polished from the pics), but you should want to know and see proof of the specific work completed.

With these photos, I feel like we are three blind men and an elephant.
OP, nothing is jumping out at me as wrong, but I hope you realize that these photos are totally inadequate for anyone to really help you. Moreover, you still haven't provided photos from between the lugs, of the movement, of the clasp code, or of the inside of the case-back.

Looks like 2 different watches, from the second set of attached images the crown guards in the first three images look very different from those in the 4th image. The first three appear to be softened by polishing and the 4th very sharp. For the record I am not an expert or claim to be an expert and will of course differ to any experts who deem my point of view as nonsense.

Regarding insert recommendations, the redback is correct for that watch. I personally would need to know the case SN matches the Mk1 dial, as there are many pieced together out there and that diminishes the value substantially. Based on the price, I would guess the hands are a later replacement from the service, without documentation to prove otherwise. I would still wait for the case SN and lug pics and share when you get them.
