Anyone do some selling off lately?

Just curious in light of recent events.

Is everyone still holding onto all their pieces or did you move some recently?

No need to specify how many of each sold and for how much - keep it simple

Personally...I still have all mine.

It does seem like a lot of people are trying to sell now while still near the top.

Lots of subs hitting the For Sale section all of a sudden. Prices on subs seem to be headed back to MSRP

I am not selling, however I do want to buy one. But I have decided to wait 1-2 months though to see what happens with the economy.

Well with 3.5 million Americans applying for unemployment last week alone and another month of shut down in front of us I suspect you’re going to see people selling a lot more than watchers in the coming months.

As for me though no. I won’t be selling anything unless I get bored of it.

That 3.5M Unemployment claims are mostly from service industry employees or low level workers.

I hope those guys did not buy luxury items working in those types of roles.

I've seen some heartless posts since the start of this outbreak, but this one truly takes the cake.

Do you travel much or just live in your little bubble? Lots of “low level” service employees wearing Rolex

Wrong. Try again. Man, the arrogance is abound. I’m in the oil/fuel industry. Lots of educated, hard working, experienced folks now without a job. Definitely not low level workers.

Entire sales forces are being laid off or furloughed, from the absolute top. This isn’t going to get any better either.

Gotta agree with you on this one. In the IT field. 6 months ago we were offering stupid wages for any decent Sales Engineers. Finding good people has been our companys biggest go to market challenge. Wages have increased over 50% for that position over the last 5 years.

We just laid off half of them.

Agree with others, quite frankly it’s astounding you made this post (as there may even be some service workers on this board). Not to mention, how ridiculous it is. I know people in hospitality having trouble that pull down 1% numbers and are cutting back on spending and having serious doubts. Get off your high horse.

‘Low level workers’ just shows how you envision yourself as better than others

People like Ocog are the type that life (AKA KARMA) hasn’t hit yet, but it will. KARMA doesn’t fail in teaching important lessons and humbling those who aren’t quick learners

Unless you’re desperate for the cash, now is definitely not the time to sell equities!

investors are nowhere near fearful enough ... When no one's talking about whether they should buy now anymore, that'll be closer.

And on the topic of watches, no.

It feels fresh though, seeing more listings from private parties. Kinda how it was +5 years ago, instead of all the dealer listings.

Second hand market coming back to earth.

I'll still buy at ADs if given the chance.

If you are looking for a second hand deal I'd hold out.

Purchased a Deep Sea JC 3 weeks ago for $12900. Took offers from 3 big gray market dealers. One wasn't interested at the present time. Two other offers were for $10,000 and $10500. Wife encouraged me to keep the watch and I will! Love the watch, money isn't the issue. These times scream of being frugal. Now I look at the watch as a ray of hope. Optimism for the future, better times ahead!

Did you buy it to flip or because you loved the watch?
