Rolex confirms to not sell online
Kindly delete, if that has already been covered. Rolex confirmed earlier today, that they won‘t let AD‘s sell online. Source: Handelszeitung.ch

In UK At least, all ad’s are close. And so are rolexes factories. So there’s nowhere to ship from, or to?

While I'm not suprised Rolex aren't allowing AD's to sell online, with limited supplies anyway there isn't much point. I just can't understand why Tudor isn't.

I don’t care either......there’s too much going on to be concerned with watches.

As to Rolex ADs - they are still 'open' here in Australia - but the majority are "by appointment" or very limited trading hours and number of customers in store at any one time. |

Signing onto TRF, reading about watches, celebrating incomings and generally hearing the latest news in the watch world has been a fantastic distraction for me. So please don’t act like you’re above all this watch talk cause there are more concerning things happening in the world. Sorry to be such a downer everyone, but this is a watch forum. The right place to be concerned about watches. |

I don't believe that email communications is selling on line. Use normal communications channels and you'll be fine.

Patek is allowing their AD's online sales but this is not surprising.

With Rolex's control freak mentality, there was never a chance of giving AD's online liberty.
Rolex has enough retained profits to pay all its employees for 10 years without even blinking.

I certainly agree that the profits are huge, Steve. Haven’t those past profits been transferred to the Wilsdorf Foundation where they can’t flow back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Nobody really knows the answer to this, as Rolex are so secretive as are the Swiss Government when it´s about their charities, one of which the Wilsdorf Foundation, i.e. Rolex, is. I´m no lawyer and can only speculate that when Hans Wilsdorf set up his foundation (in 1944 after the death of his wife, if I remember correctly. They were childless.) he took the very best legal advice available at the time in war-isolated Switzerland. That might mean having some sort of "get the money back" clause in it should Rolex ever be in danger of going bankrupt. That will most probably never be made public, but who knows?

enough AD's open in the World to sell. For example in Holland, you can still enter the AD and buy a Rolex that is in stock.

If they were open in the UK, technically speaking, a customer should not be making the journey to visit them anyway.

More ADs are working from home, and have call forwarding set up. So while the store might be closed, the some AD staff are able to communicate with customers. Hopefully we can all get through this.

I got an email yesterday from an AD offering me one of the models I was previously interested in. I kindly declined for now!
