How do you keep your watches secure?

With many of you owning a multitude of luxury watches
in your collection that can be worth $50-100k or more, I
was curious how you keep your watches safe ie. burglars,
home cleaning service or home repair providers. I personally
have one watch of any real value (Sub 114060) that is either
on my wrist or on my bathroom counter so monitoring its
whereabouts isn't a concern.

How do you secure your watch collection and why?

a) home safe

b) bank deposit box

c) just a watch box at home for easy
access

In my case, it's a 2 hour fire safe bolted to my basement slab, in a closet, behind a locked door. Burglar would have to get past my home security system, dead-bolted security door, my PPE (the kind we're not allowed to talk about here), and then actually find the darn thing while the alarm is sounding.

I mean you can hide/lock them but honestly you MUST insure them!

Yep - insurance. If someone wants them bad enough and they are willing to do what it takes to circumvent measures I have in place, they can have them. I'll just buy more.

I don’t own anywhere near 50-100k in value of watches. That said though there really is no safer place for your watch than a bank vault. If it’s not on my wrist, it’s in the vault.

Insurance and a safe. The safe is simply to be an annoyance to thieves.

In a jewelry box on top of my bedroom dresser. Glass top so you see what I'm not wearing. Guess I should complete the jewelry insurance process I started.

Insurance, then lock them up when not in use. Read the fine print on safety deposit boxes, they usually have language stating they don't cover much in they way of theft or damage.

I found my wrist is the best place. Or on my nightstand with an unmentionable item nearby.

Randomly hidden throughout the house. It would take a quest for a thief to find them all. ;)

It saddens me to see "Guns" as a security measure, I say this as an MoD and NRA firearms instructor.

Effective deterrent though in the event of a home invasion.
